Then you should be aware that the bulk of this thread is about the pros and cons of stadium expansion, rather than AA and the council.
Wasn't your comments about the sales based on conjecture and rumour rather than any actual statements from the club? "I've heard that..." "Rumour has it..." "I have it on good authority..." etc style.
No, it was based on James Mooney announcing on Radio Humberside that we'd sold 15,000 season tickets. In fact, it was 18,000, as for some reason, he didn't include the corporate season tickets.
As I recall the KC was one of the stadiums which were considered as part of the bid by England to stage the 2020 World Cup as the criteria was that the minimum capacity had to be 40,000 there must exist somewhere a plan to expand to that level. You only have to look at how st James park has been expanded from 37,000 to 52,000 to see that it is possible to increase the capacity of most modern stadiums, though as anyone who has , as we will again, the 'pleasure ' of sitting in the gods the result is not always spectator friendly.
The World Cup application was based on us having 44,000 seats, but quite a lot of it was temporary seating.
I wasn't aware that it was as much as 44,000. Is there any plans or details of how this would have been managed , presumably even allowing for temporary seating ( where ? ) it must have involved putting new tiers on the east , north and south stands. Was there any costings ? Of course in the end the bid failed and anyway the powers that be thought Plymouth a better location than Hull
Yep,silly idea. See what Liverpool are doing http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/jul/28/premier-league-ticket-prices-football Liverpool’s cheapest Anfield season ticket is £710, significantly more than at City, United and all clubs outside London; in fact it is the Premier League’s fourth most expensive lowest-priced season ticket after Arsenal’s £1,020 (for 26 matches), Chelsea’s £750 and the £745 that Tottenham Hotspur charge at White Hart Lane. Liverpool’s chief executive, Ian Ayre, has made it clear that the expansion of Anfield, for which preparatory work has begun with the demolition of surrounding houses, will be aimed at making more money for the club from fans, not reducing prices. Can people get this stupid notion out of their heads that if we did build an extension it would mean cheap tickets. They would want to recuperate their money as quickly as possible.
Happy doesn't do that. He likes to make a scene, try and wind some people up and then stay quiet when questioned. It's been the same years now. See my post on the other thread.
not 5 minutes on a match day. I lived in Sunderland for a while (University) and know my way around very well.
Actually in defence of HP the posts about the numbers of season cards sold was in a clinical tone as far as I recall.
