To be fair Diouf has played as a wide midfielder for at least 5/6/7 years now, not hearing that as an excuse. Obviously he's not going to be as good defensively as someone like Pugh, for instance, but still. And also, realistically who else do we have who can play RM, and who else could we have signed to play there given the financial constraints he's working under? Give him a bit of credit

I wont give warnock any credit for those errors, and they are errors. If he is in the market for a wide midfielder and comes back with a striker its not good enough, while diouf has played as a wide player, its more been as a winger rather than a midfielder so you won't expect any effort defensively and Varney to me is a pure striker. If your playing 4-4-2 your wide midfielders need to be able to defend and keep their shape. And I hate how people defend this by talking about financial constraints, he still signed a player, just one in the wrong position.
