    Norway: Where have I suggested otherwise?

    I think Deeney is as well suited as anyone to compensate for the non-goalscoring part of what Danny does. Any main striker worth his salt will get into double figures, so I reckon we're looking at losing 10 or so league goals over a season. I think that Cowie has a couple more goals a season in him, Sordell has the potential to better this year's tally, Buckley would comfortably hit double figures from out wide if he can pull it together for a full season, and all that is assuming that we don't get anyone decent on loan.

    As they got caught by Ipswich and finished 3rd, the reserves to win back their league title and the Academy to win the FA Youth Cup. As for the first team, I think it depends on the comings and goings in the summer.

    I would like to see us up in the top six for a part of the season at least and finishing there or thereabouts.

    Financially we are better off than a year ago - our running losses are a lot lower and we must be getting near to break-even on a week by week basis. If we sell DG then our debts will be lower and where we have found one DG we should look for another - or bring on our yong talent further

    For next season I'd like to see 1-2 new good loan players in, hopefully Fergie can lend us another player similar to cleverleys ability.

    Would like a top 10 finish for next season ideally. However if we do manage to keep Graham, we should make a serious push for playoffs.

    Do you know - I would actually like to see us trying NOT to take any loan players but to get on our own feet - probably not possible if we are to progress but I am always disappointed when we have loanees - if they are good we wish they were ours and if they are not......

    Blooding in more of our kids and a top 10 finish would be outstanding!
    I think there is little chance Of DG staying!we didnt sell in the last window so we need to reduce debt in the impending window!

    In my view, loans are only a good thing if the player is good enough to walk into the first team on merit, or if we are one injury away from having to start a first year scholar/likely to be released second year scholar.

    I don't want to beat up on Danny Drinkwater too much, but from my perspective we have given someone who is currently a mediocre Championship player first team experience, at the expense of another couple of players who are currently mediocre Championship players. All of them will get better, but the difference is that we will benefit from the development of Jenkins and Mingoia.

    Hopes:

    *Steven McGinn makes a comeback from injury, none the worse for wear;
    *Malky's head isn't turned!;
    *Financial stability - if that be from the sale of DG/SL then so be it;
    *A 'proper' left back can be persuaded to join us;
    * NO loanees unless absolutely necessary - buy our own/further groom the ' Academy kids'. We only set ourselves up to fail with loanees IMO - viz Johnson/Taylor, when they left we crashed. Others have been costly, abject failures - viz Noble/Drinkwater/Cathcart/Townsend/Bridcutt/Rose;
    *JE/MT/AM remain as the spine of the team;
    *Deeney & Sordell become the new Jenkins & Blissett.

    Expectations:

    *A top ten finish simply to continue the trend of improvement year by year - am not interested in promotion at the moment as we are simply not geared up for another stint up there;
    *A new playing surface.

    I've deliberately not included anything about our 3-sided ground. Yesterday's game had all the elements of a full house yet we couldn't even fill the stadium. Why waste money on a new stand?

    Good shout on the strikers BB. Deeney has been the subject of some stick due to his lack of goals, which is somewhat unfair under the circumstances. Sordell clearly has loads of goals in him, but they have all come in fits and starts, and when he has a bad day it's a very bad one.

    I don't remember Jenkins, and I don't remember Blissett in his pomp, but from what I've read there seem to be strong parallels.

    BB, I second that about Steven McGinn.

    Also, I hope that the Brighton away game is a Saturday as I can do that as a day trip from here.
