We are far to big for the vetch today but its ironic the vetch could hold a lot more than the liberty due to being able to stand, We should be able to have part of the liberty turned into standing as i use to love watching football that way, ..sadly today with failing health it would not suit me but i would still love the terraces to come back....

If you look at the east stand it is predominantly all standing anyway so why not make a portion of it standing area say upper section from the away dans around to the halfway line I know at present I don't think they would be allowed but weren't they on about bringing back standing areas

The safe standing thing will still leave seats there, there is no way we will go back to terraces like we had in the Vetch, frankly I am glad of that as its inherently dangerous. I am for a seated a stadium I must admit

Back in the day, people were packed in like sardines. I was one, on The North Bank, on more occasions than was safe for me,or anyone else. I don't think we gave safety a second thought.
Then the powers that be put in crash barriers, wherein groups of about 200 people were corralled, for want of a better word.
That arrangement worked well, and removed much,if not all,of the concern re people being crushed.

The problem Vetch is that there is no control of terraces, how many do you leave in? What happens if there is an emergency for example like Bradford or similar ? It is far safer now and hopefully there will never be a crush like with Liverpool.

I used to like the north bank but it wasn't really family friendly, and wasn't a place that could attract women to the game, we can't be a club where it just caters for males, and young males at that. Football at the Liberty is supposed to attract everyone no matter age or sex

You cant use any form of materials that burn these days so the chance of a fire starting is zero. There is no reason today why we cant have standing, The atmosphere was a lot better i felt, and on them freezing cold days never seemed to bother anyone like they do when your sat down. I would love to see it brought back but i doubt these namby pambys who have the authority would allow it. I myself has to have a seat these days but it would be great for those to enjoy the delights of standing like i use to do....

It will never happen in the way it used be Dai, the safe standing proposed is for fold up seats and chest high barriers in front of you.

As has been mentioned none of us worried about the safety aspect when we stood on the North Bank, very rarely was it full apart from on occasions in the Toshack era and of course for that cup game against Arsenal in 1968 when over 32,000 somehow managed to squeeze into the Vetch. Guess luck played its part as there were times when Cardiff scarves were openly set on fire at the back of the North Bank and with so much rubbish piled up underneath the terrace it could have caused a major danger. These days we've got used to having our own seats in a modern environment suitable for all the family so to return to standing in any capacity would be to the majority a backward step though there are some away grounds where we rarely ever get a chance to sit down which does add to a better atmosphere.

I have been waiting for this, £100 Million plus turnover last year and we only escaped a £16.5 Million deficit by the sale of Bony? seems we are in need of next seasons bumper TV rights more than ever, but surely we are not blowing all our income streams on over paid players? are our board creaming it? how the hell will this board manage back in the Championship, losing all this Premier League money? Looks to me as if our board are losing focus, but they can certainly kiss goodbye to any further progress if they continue to hold on to Monk......................<ok>

Our wages bill for last year was 77 million. This season will be more unless we offload some players, can't see us doing much in the Jan. window and can say goodbye to expansion.

Based on the figures, we will be in deep **** if relegation comes and the massive Sky pot of money is missed you. The players will be like rats leaving a sinking ship.

Jenkins was never serious about expansion , he always had a ton of excuses to hide the fact without looking against it imo .
When we first came up time should have been spent screening who gets season tickets , the more season tickets fans had leading up to entry in the Premier , the more available season tickets should have been made to those fans .
Instead of who you knew within the club , or how quick fairweather fans were on the draw on the internet.
Then expansion was and is much less a problem imo.
