others (and me ) debating this subject right now http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-historic-years-at-carrow-road/#comment-71797
Just fishing on there Dave, trying to get a reaction I've also joined the Pink un forum for a laugh, bloody hard work that this is definitely the place to be
Haven't really seen the other comments.... but expand Carrow Road. we have a good stadium as it is with options to expand the main and south stand without a major headache, though I did hear that rather than putting another tier onto the main stand they were thinking of ripping it down and replacing with a new one if they ever did expand it.
Well City really do need to make a decision one way or another http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9915096
Yes, because the ground actually belongs to the city. I think they did apply to increase it, but the city council said, "no".
They share it with the Ospreys to so that may have an impact as they do not get as much attendance as Swansea do.
Talking of that I'm a fan of what Steve Lansdown is doing in Bristol, he's buying the sports teams there and creating a partnership call Bristol sport. They're leveraging the rugby and football teams to try and help them both become more successful. I think they may be one to watch in the coming years.
Yeah, rugby, football, ladies football and basketball all in partnership. It's almost a more continental model. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Bristol City challenge for the championship playoffs this season. I do feel a bit sorry for Bristol Rovers, they've lost the Rugby club as tenants, and aren't receiving any support from Bristol Sport. I can understand wanting to focus on one football team, its just a shame they had to disadvantage the other one.
We have a nightmare in Northampton with the Saints and Cobblers, in general they barely tolerate one another, it all stems from Sixfields being built and apparent traffic issues, but in my opinion it's the Rugby club being territorial since they were the only sports club on the Western side of Northampton. They try playing games at alternative weekends but a third or so of their fixtures clash and neither will ever back down, so there is slanging matches in the local media it's really childish.
Interesting that Portaloo Rd is only a bit bigger than Carrow Rd, yet their average attendance is 66% of capacity.
Some serious decisions to be made next year, especially if we look likely to stay in the PL (Yes, I think we will and be around mid table).
Their would have been rioting in the streets if they had dropped the name 'Barclay'. Liverpool have the 'Kop', Man Utd have the 'Stretford', Villa have the 'Holte' and we have the 'Barclay' Oh and the Binmen have.....well actually I don't rightly know what they have, any ideas Gentlemen?
