point TT was trying to make is that you cant get world class players in january. Afterall if they are world class why would the club they are at let them go at such a crucial stage of the season? We had vermaelen and koscielny as full backs who did a great job. You may have been able to get some alternatives in jan but they would be ****e in defending which isnt an easy art. You also must take into account as i said wages which would no doubt be deducted from the summer trasnfer budget.

He said players have to be world class to play for us, you responded by saying Arsenal have few world class players - so by logic your point is players DO NOT need to be world class to play for us. You ask him to name the other world class players at Arsenal but he can't. Instead he suggests that you want us to sign lousy players, total extreme. Then he posts a vitriolic comment at you TT I suggest you take a break son. OXO - I don't have a wide ranging scout network looking at players so I can't tell you. But if I was the manager of a Premier league football club I could Did you know Papiss Cisse or Demba Ba before they came to the Premier League ? Did you know the big Russian striker that went to Fulham in the winter and is banging in goals ? Had you heard of Sigurdsson before he went to Swansea and is now banging in goals ? there are plenty of decent players that can come to us and do a job, none of them have to be top players, considering the number of injuries we have been working with it is criminal that we haven't sought to lighten the burden.
God knows how you do it. There isn't a single post that goes by without them putting an insult into it for another poster, or against the players/club/manager. A bit like Wenger, in the eyes of some on here, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. . Ask people to tone it down and you're accused of singling out posters. PM them and you get a load of abuse thrown back in your face. Delete the insulting comments and you're accused of censorship. Let it go and you run the risk of people turning this place into a bitch fest. At the end of the day, the mods have to make a judgement call. For the most part it's mainly people running their mouths off, with very little substance behind it. When it gets personal and nasty, that's when we have to act.

Not sure if Wenger is just bad at managing the squad (he never rotates) or if he just has crap back ups (which he doesnt trust). I suggest 1 leads to the other. He manages the squad badly and therefore our back ups lose confidence/stop developing. No doubt at the moment we cant rotate much of our side without becoming seriously worse.
If we get decent players then people would be moaning that we aren' egtting top quality, AW isn't spending money well, wtc...
I'm not sure that is accurate Oxo. I'd never heard of Gervinho before we bought him, not a big fan of French football. But I was happy we bought a players who's stats suggested he'd be decent for us. Personally I don't have a problem with Gervinho, new league, new country, new team etc, lets see how he is next season. But "we can't do nothing because it might be worse than doing something", thats ridiculous. Changing a winning team/formation etc makes no sense at all, we were playing QPR FFS not Real Madrid. He changed a winning team against Man U, to the horror of RVP (his facial expression spoke a 1000 words). Wenger claimed he saw Oxo feeling the back of his leg as reason for taking him off, nobody else saw it, no cameras saw it. He then played 89 minutes of our next game against Villa
I agree with you about the Oxo situation vs Man U and QPR and I agree that ometimes an unkown can turn out to be a world beater I'm just aguing that certain people moan and complain if AW gets an unkwon, wo could turn out to ba a world beater However I do think that we need PROVEN players this transfer window and a cuple of young African lads I do find it funny that many of us were oaning when we first bought and now we are moaning that we don't play Oxo enough (though he needs more playing time)
Hehehehehe .. no bias there I guess I can't speak for others, I was happy to see Gervinho because he is already developed, no problem with Arteta either. My view is we need more players who can come in and do a job allied with talented youngsters. I will always support the way Arsenal choose to do things, developing from within and not buying stars, but we can also buy players that we actually need once in a while and not continually act like we are shopping in the bargain basement.
