I am glad to see him score goals. I think it may well be from the bench and in cup matches that he gets his chance. I hope he plays against Reading to see how he does against better opposition. I think that is when we can start to really judge him. I also believe that at the start of the season he will be our no.2 striker, but we will still bring in another and Donnelly will go back to bit part. But he will finally have his chance in the first team this year.
Thanks again Stumpy. I feel an aggressive poster is trying to draw me into a war of words in the hope that I transgress the rules and receive a ban. I cannot comprehend how his comments which have been been seen by at least one mod haven't been dealt with. I made it quite clear that I was not on here for confrontation. I would like to know why this persons comments haven't been addressed by any mods though. Why should I have to put up with name calling and threats mods? Can you not see that threatening to pursue (yes that's how it's spelt) someone and name calling is wrong?
Glad for the boy, but I would prefer to see how he gets on against opposition of a decent standard before we think he is the next star.
Donnelly has really impressed during preseason and he has definitely put the cat among the pigeons, he looks a natural goal scorer who will get to play more games than what we think this season...
FFS lads, get back to the footie topic. If anybody has an issue with a fellow poster please take it up via the private message function. As for Dai's post which (in my opinion) led to Musty's uncalled for response, there was nothing wrong with him stating that he would have preferred the club to have helped 2 local Welsh clubs out, as I would have. It would have been much better if Musty had responded as Jager (rather than try to re open already closed wounds) did and thus no argument would have broken out.
Stumpy, since I don't know the whereabouts of the poster,it is not beyond the wit of man to work out that I meant pursue via posts on this forum. Hope that clarifies it. There was no threat, only that I would respond to him in kind. He is a consummate sniper, and I have had recourse to tangle with him on at least three occasions recently. If he snipes again,I will react again. I note your surprise at my comment, and that should then indicate to you,and others, that I don't make such posts on a regular basis, nor do I do so lightly. Thanks for your reasoned, sensible post.
Apologies to one and all for my earlier post, which some found unacceptable, and at variance with my usual standards.
Dreyfus stick with it mate, Vetch can be an old prickly hedge hog on times, but he's harmless enough unless your a Kairdiff supporter!............. And now to footy, I'm very impressed with Donnelly's pre-season, and I'm sure Laudrup is too, this lad is going to be a tonic off the bench this season, his goal against Yeovil was top draw, and he's on the score sheet again today, lets hope Rodgers doesn't come poaching for him when he starts banging them in for us for fun!................ PS: Can we leave the handbags out girls please!.....................
So let me get this straight, Vetch defends Dai's right to air his opinion, then picks on Dreyfus for airing his. Rightly or wrongly he has sniped, but that is after all his own opinion and he is entitled to it, wouldn't you say Vetch, like you say Dai is, or are you a hypocrite? One cannot be defended for airing an opinion, whilst another is condemned for it. Whether or not he has said anything snide is irrelevant, there are many things that Dai has said that has been snide remarks aimed at a club we all love, so many times we defend against those comments, like you are now with Dreyfus, so how can you then, have the cheek to stand up for Dai. Thats right, because you have a different set of standards to others, and just because your standards of what you can tolerate or not are different to others, doesn't give you the right to act all high and mighty, so come down off that horse of yours, be less of a hypocrite, and allow poor old Dreyfus his opinion, whether you like it or not shall we.
I've read through this thread and have to say what an absolutely fantastic post Swanselona. It appears that you along with Stumpy have picked up on the double standards and secret handshakes that go on, on this board. I thought Musty getting the blame was priceless. That was so ridicilous it actually mad me laugh out loud. Musty if you're reading this you're a naughty boy and its your fault that your rugby team got stuffed, why your cricket team are a shambles and why the UK is in recession Dai, if you're reading this I think you should know that I've had a read of some of your latest posts and I think they've been very good and very positive too. I see where you're coming from with Neath and the Turks but all things considered I'd probably go along with what jäger says but there's no offence intended.
I've been pinching bicycles from the Uni. You might have read about it on the Malaysians board Been very very busy in work and I've been working away too. Batteries fully recharged now and raring to go. As for Reading I'm gonna go down tomorrow on see how much the tickets are but I am seriously considering it. They're doing coaches for £18 so that's not too bad
