He's always been highlight rated. Even though hes young (is he that young anymore?) Its slightly worrying that not only is he not standing out when loaned out, hes struggling to make the first 11 of these lower class sides

I have watched Ampadu closely and can never say he has shone in any game he has played. He is average on the ball, passing likewise, the Welsh love him as he is at their level. He is though good at defending so with the right partner he could hold down a place in a premier team, not sure he is the right man for us. I think Ake is in the same bracket, but a better player.

Ampadu suffers from being “versatile” and playing too many positions. We need to get rid of the excess baggage who are on high wages and never contribute enough, we know who they are, then we could keep 4 good youngsters and give them the opportunity to play. Ampadu and Gilmour, like Broja,Colwill , Anjorin and Gallagher are potentially excellent players looking for a chance with a decent team, like Chelsea !!

Pathetic display in the USA in all 3 games we were terrible. Arsenal look in far better shape for top 4 than us, the players they brought in are excellent. Tuchel not only doesn’t seem to know what his best 11 is, he doesn’t know which is the best way to set us up, largely because he is playing dross like Batshit instead of Broja, Emerson at left back James in a back 4. All that does is confirm it’s not the way to go, which he should know already. Too much dead wood cluttering up selections and wrecking pre season. sell them, give them away, they will cost us big time when the PL kicks off again.

We’re really under prepared but I think that was obvious even before last night. We seem to give minutes to the unwanted players every pre season. Why are Barkley, Kennedy, Batshuayi even there?

We still need a striker, another centre back, wing back cover and to freshen up the midfield.

We also need a director of football, Todd Bohely is totally out of his depth. He seems to have the right attitude and conviction to take the Club forward, but he’s being slaughtered due to lack of football experience in handling transfers. Koulibaly we got mainly because Napoli owner though Barcelona were going to have problems paying the agreed price, and Sterling has come for the money, pure and simple. That’s how it is now, just “show me the money”, and we aren’t showing enough. Kounde can **** off for a start, if he’d rather go to Barca, fine piss off then. Time to cut the crap, bite the bullet and put prices on the 7 players we should be showing the door, Barkley, Batshit, Ziyech, Alonso, Kepa, Pulisic and Kennedy, so they become a decent buy for other Clubs. Buying them off might not be much different in cost to not getting top 4 and losing those millions.

Looks like Werner is on his way back to Leipzig for €33 permanently. No doubt he’ll go back there and get 20 goals a season but not sure the way we play suits him, getting a decent find considering his lack of goals though.

I reckon 7 or 8 players at least will leave before the transfer window shuts, assuming somebody wants them.

Official now, good luck to him. He always tried his hardest for us and played his part in our CL win. Will always be a mystery why he didn’t do better.
