Bellamy isn't good enough, he used to be but neither him or sentiment will keep us in this unforgiving league. He can do a job off the bench but we'll need better than him to stay up imo. There's a reason FC hasn't scored a decent amount of goals in the PL despite a couple of chances. The reason was brilliantly demonstrated last night. RVP is obviously world class but compare his intelligence of movement with FC and the difference is clear. Bellamy is not the player he was but he is still a driving force for the rest of the team and we need him for the battles to come. The problem is Whittingham. How many corners and free kicks has he had this season and how many goals have resulted? Have you ever seen him dash forward with the ball like Noone or Frazier and plenty of others even Macnaughton? He strolls around midfield passing sideways and backwards while we have players up in attack slowing the game down. Whitts played better last night then he has done for a while, but still leaves a lot to be desired, would be nice to have him back striking the ball as sweetly as we know he can but it might be a case of rest will be the answer.
