Im opposite to you I got A's and B's at GCSE and thought A levels wouldnt be to difficult and ended up with BDD, still got into uni to do what I wanted but looking back I wish I listened to people who said A levels were so much harder and I would of put more effort in. So let that be a warning to anyone going to sixth form you have to put the work in to get decent results.

Take heed of this advice. I try and reiterate this every year, yet we get so many new A level students who think it will be a breeze. And it is not.
Good luck fellas, was in this position last year and it's a bitch. I can guarentee that the ones you think you did well in, you wont have dont as well and for the ones you think you f****d up, you'll do better than expected. But yeah, this time next year when you're doing A-levels you'll wish you were doing GCSEs again!

So true, I remember i was sure had failed an English one as forgot to take in book to analyse (think it was Lord of the flies), wrote about 5 pages of absolute bull comparing the group to a football team (can't quite remember) and ended up getting a B!! Where as P.E was hoping A* got a B...

After doing AS levels so far I can only back up what wheelski is saying - work hard and don't slack like me!

I wouldn't stress over it. GSCE's are pretty meaningless. 99% of those wanting to go on to A-Levels will get into sixth form. All you need is 5 A* - C grades, any others don't matter, they're just a bonus. For those wanting to go onto Uni, as long as you get English and Maths at C they don't give a **** what your other grades are, they only look at your A-Levels. And when you get to Uni they don't give a **** about those either. For those going to work similar, nobody asks for more than 5 A* - C GCSE's. Any above that are meaningless.

I got my AS levels and to be honest ****ed up fairly majorly (B, C, C, D, D, E, E - i'd done some the year before) so my advice is work as hard as you can, and then work some more and you should be just about fine

My sister got 4 A's for her AS's when she expected A, B, B, C, so I also have lots to live up to.
But I'm not really nervous. GCSE's aren't massively important in the grand scheme of things and it's only 4 results. Also I think I put enough work into all of them so I think I'll be fine. Apart from in Resistant Materials that is (we had a depressed Peter Griffin lookalike 'teaching' us for the first half of the year. We didn't do anything in lessons AT ALL, apart from pissing around with the belt sander and some bastard files - oh what pretty sparks we made!).
Anyway, I'm thinking about the Barton saga and the Scunthorpe game lots more than my results.
If it makes you feel any better, GCSE's really pale into insignificance if you go on to do A Levels. I wish I'd known that when I got my GCSE results. Relax
Good look to everyone I got my AS results last week so I know how nervous you must be. The thing that helped me was the Derby, I cared more about that so I was more nervous about that match at the weekend (I get stupidly nervous leading up to the derby's for some reason) than getting my results, so I never really give it a thought until the morning I was getting them!
