Following on from my blast from the past above (Idris Saadi) my trawling has unearthed another one - a sadly wasted player for City

I remember Burgstaller - by far the best of a bad bunch brought in by City at that time. I think he left for the Bundesliga (Nurenburg?) and did well there.

I watched him a few times streamed live on bet365 and he looked pretty impressive and scored quite a few for them.

Another of a raft of players that in the right formation and style would gave done a job.
Too much money spent on square pegs in round holes.
Problem is, theres probably no money available now to buy any shape peg.

Here’s a player we never saw the best of

Rarely saw him but he failed to impress when we did. Possibly too young and naive about UK football when we had him. Rivalled Madine for a huge waste of money along with Velikonja.

As for Burger Stall, saw him make a couple of appearances, didn't show he was up to our level of football.

Apart from Madine, the other 3, plus Saadi who looked like a parks player, all came from abroad. Probably says a lot about our awful player selection policy then. Did we have one? Got no better with OGS.
