https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65611182 Good piece here too... I was also behind our goal, just to the left corner... Almost gave up trying to get a ticket but Mrs Brizzle managed to get through to the ticket office and get me one. Like BfB, never hugged and rejoiced with strangers so much in my entire life. Bizarrely on the train back to Bristol, I was opposite some QPR fans who twigged I was a Bluebird. They saw me sat on my own without a beer so gave me one of theirs so I could celebrate. Very decent of them. We also then ended up with the train being diverted via Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway. A couple of Rangers fans got off and were totally bemused as they'd parked at Parkway and had no clue how to get back there, so Mrs Brizzle gave them a lift... The camaraderie of football fans eh??? If only it could be like that all of the time.
Good for you and Mrs Brizzle. Funny enough I was asked by some QPR fans after the match for direction to the train station. So I took them as far as The Golate and off they went on their merry way. Same thing happened at our recent game v Sheffield United. A couple who weren’t sure where to go. So I walked with them from Ninian Park station to the ground and directed them to the away entrance. A very nice couple who shook my hand and thanked me. Talking about hugging. I recall the play-off final against Blackpool. Standing behind the goal with total strangers who didn’t say a thing. Then Chopra scored and I was in a bear hug with this big guy beside me! Oh the joys of football and the memories it gives us.
Bobby G still stuck with the lower league. Hamburg were celebrating promotion after their win and Heidenheim losing at 90 minutes. Nine minutes extra time and two goals scored put Bib in 3rd place. They got smashed in the playoff with Stuttgart who got above Shalke 04 in Bindesliga 1

Did you know Glentoran rejected George Best, as a youth, for being too small and light. Wonder what happened to him?
I did BT. Luckily there was a local scout who recommended him to Man Utd. Saw Best play a few times. I was at the match in Windsor Park when his ‘goal’ was disallowed for allegedly kicking the ball out of Banks’ hands. Like BFB I was a Spurs follower in the seventies and the last time I saw Best play was for Fulham v Spurs at White Hart Lane. He had slowed down by then but still beat Pat Jennings with a long range shot. I hope Glentoran’s scouting policy has improved!
I saw Best play for Fulham Reserves v Cardiff Reserves in the old Combination League in1977 at Ninian.
Interesting. Got to go down to come up again. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
And to think he was being touted for a return to the Bluebirds. Probably only a rumour anyway. I wonder how much he’s being paid and if he regrets telling Tan to feck off.
On the subject of former managers Malky Mackay’s Ross County made a stunning late recovery to win their play off on penalties
Have they signed off who is where yet? I know the Jacks are arguing as to whether Southampton are Premier League or Championship.
