Le Fondre, another ex bluebird abroad netted late yesterday for Sydney FC. However he can’t say he wasn’t given enough chances for us
Thought Burgstaller could have been a decent player in the engine room. Another who suffered from being part of a big recruitment drive with no clear game plan.
Burger Stall was never really given a chance but against that we don't know what the manager sees on the training ground every day. There could be other reasons, not settling in the area, family issues. He has done okay for himself in Germany and Austria since leaving us so must have something.
A few in the goals tonight - Trigger again for Pompey, Johnny for Swindon and Aaron Wildig for Newport
Not one you would expect. Good on him. I remember Marshie nearly getting one in added time for us. A televised game away at Bolton I think. He got in a point blank diving header. Their keeper, Jaskaleinen (spelling?) I think, had it hit him smack in the face. He never saw it coming but it went over the bar. We lost!!! Cov in added time again. I don't know why they bother turning up for the first 90.
Interesting podcast. Some brutal honesty at times. Was quite surprised at the Medel comments though as he always appeared to give his all when on the pitch.
Yes, I thought the same although usually subbed at 65/70 minutes. I put it down to the half time ciggie. How good would he have been if he had tried? I always thought Caulker put in a good shift. Surprised he thought he took some stick. Played every minute of every game in that season. That takes some doing.
Any bluebird who scored the winning goal v those down west is instantly accepted into City legend status.
