Awful for the guy.... hopefully he'll get all the help he needs but very tough times ahead for him and his family
This horrible disease seems to be hitting more and more people, not just those who have been in the public eye like Jason. However it is those with a higher profile who do more to bring home the tragedy for everyone involved. I hope as much as possible can be done to slow up the advance of the disease for Jason and that his family have every support in this difficult time.
Sad for Jason, I wish him well. Its a high profile disease in the rugby community, both union and league. Recently deceased Doddie Weir campaigned long and hard before losing his personal battle, with the RU community rallying round. A team of ex-players is currently cycling from Cardiff to Edinburgh ahead of the wales v scotland game on saturday to raise funds. On the league side, Rob Burrows has been fighting the disease for many years. His big mate Kevin Sinfield has been doing Herculean challenges to raise funds, including 7 marathons in 7 days and a couple ultra-marathons. He also ran from Edinburgh to Manchester over a 7 day period, averaging 60k a day. Hopefully a combined effort will make progress against this terrible illness. 7 in 7 Challenge | MND Association
