Well for what it's worth I agree with most of those comments, I believe his over-celebration and especially in front of Suarez was a deliberate attempt to provoke, but we are allowed to disagree with our views. <ok>

It may well be a subject that irks you more than any other but I just thought you let yourself down with last nights post, encourage debate and all that.....

Are you being serious ?? You Dave ! How did he racially abuse Hasselbaink ? That stupid video where he is clowning and he calls Hasselbaink the N word <laugh>

    <doh>

Old man, don't come to a gunfight with a pea shooter, serioiusly. Being black, I can call any black person the N word and I wouldn't be racially abusing them. Get a clue.

Erm no, see this has been a very common misconception. Saying you cannot be racist to another person of the same race, is like saying you cannot offend them in any way either. If a black person calls another black person a fucking prick, then he is insulting him. If a black person calls another black person a fucking n***** then he is racially insulting them. The word n***** is being used as an offensive term. A person is capable of self hate and/or hating his own race.

    Nope you are wrong <ok>

What you are doing is taking the literal meaning of "racism" and applying it here but you cannot. IF a black person called me the N word I'd laugh. There wouldn't be a fight at all I'd assume he was messing, because it is NOT offensive when said by a fellow black person. If he waqs angry and he said it, I'd call him an idiot cos - I'm the same colour, but it is totally not offensive when said by another black person. I've heard ghetto black girls calling guys the N word .. and everyone burst out laughing because it was hilarious.

  9. How can a black person calling another black person a n***** be racist? It can be insulting but surely not racist?

?? How are you telling me, a black, man, what is offensive or racist to me ? I've been called a coconut and it isn't fighting talk at all. In America the N word is used as a regular term amongst black people, like "friend".

A black person calling another black person the N word is not offensive, I white person calling a black person the N word will get sparked - standard !

I speak for the majority. I haven't been brought up in a cave or the wilderness. I am not a country boy. Most black people in London, for example, live in built up areas in the poorer neighbourhoods. I have friends and family in such scenarios but I also have black friends who live in big houses in the suburbs. I know posh kids I know rude boys. I know grafters I know hustlers. I know shotters, I know gangsters, I know economists and consultants. I know people who go to bashment parties, sound clashes and the opera. The ONLY people I know that would take offense to the N word would be old people, thats it.

I know exactly how it works and who I can and can't say certain things to.

In fact ..... if I walked up to another black person and called him a fassy - he'd fight me.

If I did the same and called him the N word, he'd look at me with confusion and think, "huh!!!" LOL.

This whole Evra things smacks of hypocrisy. It's ok for Evra to say terrible things about Suarez's sister and get away with it? If someone said anything about my sister i would lamp that person one.

Thats the problem with todays pu$$y footballers, they can't give and take it. Evra is a big fing c0kk but he gets away with it too much. He deserves a good smacking one of these days...

So now we have words that only certain sections of the community can use, that to me seems to be a step backwards from the equality we all seek!

I think what Hothead describes is the knowledge factor within certain cultures and that what is an acceptable term for some to use may not be acceptable to others.
At the end of the day if you don't have that deep awareness/knowledge then don't use a phrase/word that could offend, and certainly don't use it 5 or 7 or however many times it was as this will be seen as a deliberate attempt to antagonise.
Of course this whole episiode is made all the more laughable by Liverpools silence and the unending defence the clubs manager has shown for his player - even when booting the ball at the crowd from 15 yards.
Liverpool have come out of this with zero credit and will, I'm afraid, forever be tarnished with this unsavoury brush as a result....

Grizzly spot on mate. If you say the wrong word to someone you could end up in a lot of bother.

I'm 40 ... but I have a brother who is 25 ...... you wanna hear how he and his mates/peers talk to each other.

MWright .. a fassy is sometimes referred to as a fassyhole .. its like pussyhole - which .. if you were called that - is a major disrespect

so fukin what if suarez didnt want to shake the hand of a tw@ who has had him vilified by the whole country for being a racist..and got him an 8 match ban...which loser on this board would want to shake tha hand of such a man?

i know i wouldnt...and if i did it would almost be saying that im guilty..all this nonsense about footballers being role models..well im sorry..no footballer is a role model for my kid..and if i thought he should be then im a sad kunt....id never shake the hand of a man i dislike...Evra should apologise to suarez for trying to intimidate him..say all you want..but its obvious he was trying to rile suarez....Suarez knows what a kunt this man is...and he was proved right at the final whistle...this is nothing to do with racism its a personal dislike for that kunt evra....last time i checked Valencia and Wellbeck were black..and Suarez had no issue shaking their hand....make me laugh all these politically correct idiots on here...that man suarez has self respect...and is far from a racist.
