Evra and Suarez are both unsavoury characters, but I think this has got less to do with race and more to do with the fact that they just don't like each other. It's handbags really.
Are you kidding? Suarez incited the trouble when he was racist, he also didn't help matters he refused to shake evra's hand, to be honest evra is well within his rights to celebrate whenever he wants, and after being racially abused it is the perfect revenge to celebrate in front of the opposition, especially as he offered to shake suarez's hand, suarez is lucky that he was never attacked at old trafford so i have no sympathy for suarez, he ability as a player is without question but he is a racist pig and my estimation of him his hit rock bottom.
Bobbypires... Wasn't trying to say that people hate Evra because of his race...just that SOME people on here are playing down the racism or implying that it was somehow justified. You yourself wrote "Suarez may have racially abused him but Evra must've surely antagonized him." How do you know that? Sorry for the typo's, spelling mistakes and any missing apostrophies, puntuation and other grammatical errors but I typed my contribution on my phone and didn't use spell and grammar check.... My first point was: To the gooners going at evra.... Lots if people thought ian wright was a cnut ... did that make it ok for schmiechel to racially abuse him? (I know that wasnt ever investigated/proven...I am making a point) Id say not. I was pointing out that Ian wright was not universally popular so was it ok that the then United keeper racistly abused him (allegedly)? I do not think it was. My second point was: Was it ok for that spanish coach to racistly refer to Henry to one of his players cos he claimed Henry was arrogant? Id also say no.[/I] I was reminding you that the Spanish manager once racially abused Henry because he thought he was arrogant and asking if that was ok...I then said that I don't think it was. My third point was: I saw a comedy show once where a racist police man justified arresting a black guy.everyday cos he was 'black in a built up area'....thats what SOME of the comments here sound like. By this I was drawing attention to how pityful justifications SOME people were using on this and other threads for Suarezs' behaviour sounded. My fourth point was: Evras colour is not an issue ... hatred or loyalty to a team should not stop our opposition to racism. Every time I have faved racist **** and have challenged it crap excuses are used....you looked at me funny, you didnt answer me, its pc gone mad, it was just a joke, a muslim mugged my mate, I once had a bad curry...etc. etc. I think the point on Evra and racism is pretty clear even if one was **** faced last night. The rest was another example of the pityful attempts to justify racist comments I have recieved in clubs, in work, on public transport etc. Admitted I did make the horrendous mistake of pressing a "v" instead of a "c" so instead of "faced" I typed "faved" but in my defence it is a small phone and I have extraordinarily fat fingers. My final point was: If was innocent I'd have appealled. If I mean no harm I apologise and say I meant no offence...if I had agreed to shake hands (as Dalglish suggested suarez had in the sky interview ) Id shake the hand I was taking up the idea that Suarez was correct to refuse to shake hands as he believes he is innocent. Admittedly I mis-spelt "appealed" by accidently double tapping the "l" and missed some apostrophies out etc so please accept my sincere apologies for any offence caused. As Liverpool have offered an apology, along with Suarez himself I think it suggests that they feel that Evra is not to blame.
You're over analysing it to the point that you simply see what you want to see. None of that is true. Suarez has even apologised now, blowing everything you've said out of the water.

To be honest I think both players acted like children, Suarez and Evra are both representatives of their respective teams and idols to many fans what happened yesterday demonstrates their inward thinking. What would have happened if both sets of fans seriously clashed afterwards as a result of their behaviour? How would they have felt reading headlines that supporters had clashed over their petulance? I do feel sorry for kenny as it seems he has been lied to by his player and he stuck by him through all of this.
I don't lke Evra or Suarez, however has anyone else noticed how slow Evra was to put his hand out, kinda looks like he wanted the incident to happen, perhaps Suarez thought Evra was gonna do a Bridge ie put his hand out and pull it away to make him look like a twat!
Does anyone genuinely believe that Suarez and Dalgleish mean their apologies ? This is the Liverpool hierarchy diactating to the pair of them that they're both dragging the clubs name through the mud - Suarez, as a modern day footballer is almost expected to be arrogant and selfish, but I doubt I'm the only one believing that we should have expected better from Dalgleish. Evra's behaviour at the end of the game was disgraceful too as I said earlier, all in all just a long sad episode in a season of sad episodes....
There is utter bollox on this thread, some of you chat so much **** it beggars belief. Why is Evra a twat/knob/muppet ? What has he ever done to get those names ? I hate Man U as much as the next man but I can be fair and talk without bias. Tell me how Evra is a knob ? Because of the French mutiny ? How so ? He was the voice for the rest of the squad. Doesn't make him a knob. Look at suarez on the other hand, a diver, a cheat (handball at the World Cup), he is a racist and there are numerous other indescretions. There is no comparison and frankly anyone claiming Evra is worse than Suarez is a fool. And shut up about what Evra did at the end of the game. He was rousing Man U fans and there is one exit from the pitch - Suarez was heading in the same direction, what did Evra therefore do that was so bad ? Some of you are fukkin princesses.
On the whole i agree with everything that you have said however there is nothing to say Suarez is a racist even the FA accepted he isn't also i think he was a cheat for making that handball.I think any other player would have done what he did.
Suarez was banned for making offensive racist remarks to a fellow professional footballer - are you saying that it was wrong to do so?
Is anyone actually claiming Evra is worse than Suarez ? I think we're all aware of the indiscretions both have achieved recently. And 'shut up' ? have I failed to understand a modern day street term or are you seriously instructing people to stop airing their views on a public forum ? Grizzly - this topic irks me more than most, I can't stand racism and to hear some of the arguments and justifications is making my blood boil !! As Alex Ferguson correctly said after the game, maybe Evra shouldn't have celebrated the way he did, but you can understand why he did. He wasn't taunting Suarez, he never once even looked at Suarez, for all we know he didn't know Suarez was near him. Everything Jayram has written about Evra is complete bollox and well OTT. Then you have others saying Evra is a twat as well. And nobody has been able to say why Evra is a cnut or a twat or a knob. The France thing ? He was the spokesperson for the squad who felt that Domenech was doing things completely wrong. Yes Evra led a mutiny but it was on behalf of all the players. Strong leadership. How does that make him a twat ? Then the Chelsea thing, more than likely the guy DID racially abuse him, but there was inconclusive proof and the pair were reprimanded for fighting, no ?! How does that make him a twat ? Any black person here who claims that if someone racially abuse them they wouldn't confront them is either a big fassy hole or not very confident at defending themselves. In fact the same applies to a white person. But if you have never been racially abused don't talk like you know what Evra felt cos you don't have a clue.
