Evra accuses Suarez of racism

Remember everyone - Evra has played the race card twice before and was found on both occasions to be a bullshitter.

So before we all jump on Suarez's back for this we should wait until it is proven, either way. Yeah people don't like Suarez for various reasons but to jump to a conclusion that he is a racist because of opinions of him is ridiculous.

Look I'm a Liverpool fan and if Suarez is guilty he should be given the maximum punishment available. However, if Evra is lying (again) he should receive a similar punishment.

There is also the incident that he claims his whole home nation Senegal think he is a monkey and a slave to the white man. And also an incident a few years back involving Finnan calling him a racist name (which wasn't reported by Evra, but involved him). Both these incidents have never had any substance to them and never been proved correct in any way shape or form.

 

Agree with Skylarker.

If Suarez did do it he should be hit with a big ban. But if it's a false allegation by Evra, he should be banned. All depends what TV replays can pick up.

Racism by words is inevitably demonstrated not by what is said but by how something is said. That is not to say individual words are not important because they clearly are. Some words have implied meanings and people have to be sensitive to that such as n..... However it is also possible to make racist comments without using sensitive words. Sometimes it is much more important as to how or why something is said rather than the literal words used.

Ultimately, Saurez is innocent until proven guilty but I agree if he has been racist then throw the book at him. Conversely if Evra is shown to be making it up (as opposed to the Scottish "not proven") then throw the book at him.
