I think Yorkies right if that site had kicked off a couple of months earlier we may well have all gone there!
A lot of folk are happy here ( I dont understand what you find clunky Yorkie) my main concern is that I dont want numerous adverts for numerous different sites
trying to fragment the old 606 community which has set up shop here!
It would be a real shame if that happened!
We tried to stop the original 606 death and failed ! At least let it die with some respect rather than pine for it with a lookalike!
Cant wait for this Not 606 phone app!
Oh and I signed up on wfc forums but as yet have not bothered using it!!ike W-y I cant be arsed to sign up to many more!
 
Registered with ja606 just to look but not received an activation e-mail so cannot use it - shows it is under-resourced. To be honest I would not want to move anyway.

The only thing really missing here is Match Thread "sharing" and they say they are looking into that.

Certainly any move from here would fragment our community and I woud not like to see that happen
 
I agree Lenny.

Luckily the important football finished weeks ago, and doesn't start again until mid-August. By then we will hopefully have some sort of match thread equivalent.
 
Do you know if they are building in match threads capabiilties on this site?

What i find clunky is the architecture of this site.... not very smooth and you have to go in and out.... i find it takes time to load too.. but others do. I also dont like the waste of space on each page ( you post a one liner and because of the stuff on the left it takes up most of the screen) and therefore following the thread can be hard... and if you miss a day you have to scroll through pages of comments.



I think if they simplified the look of it and the number of actions it would be a lot better for me.

To me to be honest it is like changing a modern car for an old banger...

I am not being treacherous by saying this! As you know I have been on 606 for years and very active and had some good times with all you good folk too.
 
Yorkie, yes match threads sharing is being sorted out!
You can adjust the space on each page if you wish!
You can opt for the more simple lay out if you like
(hit go advanced and scroll down!)
 
I'd use the opposite analogy Yorkie. I'd describe the old 606 as an antique. Elegant in its own way, but match threads aside the positives were largely sentimental.

And I guess that makes Ja606 a fake antique that, as well crafted as it is, doesn't even pretend to be the real McCoy.

I feel the same as you Yorkshire, but have just had a play around with the options and at the top of the thread you can choose "Thread Tools/Show Printable Version". This gets rid of the rubbish on the left and is a lot easier to scroll through. Still not as easy as 606 though
 
Also in an ideal world we would be more disciplined and use the "common threads" like the Nest for the chat and stay on topic here but it will not happen - but would you want to go back to a world where a stranger removed a post as it was "off topic" ?

I do kind of understand where Yorkie is coming from regarding ease of use in some areas, but I am slowly getting used to it and might even start having a play with some of the whizz bang functions on here...
But for me the most important thing is we get everyone in one place and do not become fractured. When it was announced that 606 was closing that was we said we had to ensure - to keep eveyone together so that we can share our views, experiences and opinions on Watford and other topics that take our fancy...as Bryan Ferry once sang "Come on, come on - Let's Stick Together"
