BBC4 tonight, 9.00pm till 1.00am, one of the finest, and instantly recognisable voices ever. Can't beat a bit of Roy Orbison.
Class that, I remember when you said they were doing well. Is that on Radio? Record it on BBC sounds and hoy a link up afterwards mate.
Will try to mate. They are doing ok. Plenty of gigs and one or two good supporting act gigs coming up. They are a bit stimied recording wise as they are all at college so time as a band isnt easy. They have another song coming out in a week or two hopefully, which I think is a belter, fingers crossed for them.
The first time I encountered Elbow was that song at Glastonbury, it was magnificent. So i bought a CD of theirs and gradually realised I didn't like some of the messages in the lyrics ... ... then I saw the fella interviewed and could've slapped him. CD to the charity shop and never watched them again ... ... still a great track though and the 'orchestra' were fabulous.
I once told a Bury fan their nickname should be 'The Dead' ... ... I look back and think I cursed them
There's quite some frivolity on this thread but for anyone who seriously loves British music this has to be right up there with the best. It typifies the uniqueness and inventiveness that puts us ahead of the rest of the world ... ... seriously can any other nation better this man in his prime?
That Joji song is brilliant. 30 seconds in I thought this is great, and me fatha will absolutely love it. Sent it straight to to him. He bought the album same day and reckons its great. Cheers.
