This lass is ten times the talent of someone like Adele, Taylor Swift, Beyonce or whoever imo. She has virtually no sex appeal and is a bit scary but she pulled together some great musicians, fronted the band, played guitar and wrote some powerful songs like this one ... ... from the first few chords you know she means business and it never lets up. For anyone struggling, in their life, it's a song to play and hold onto. "So, bless my heart Bless my mind I got so much to do I ain't got much time So, must be someone up above Saying, "Come on girl, yeah, you got to get back up" You got to hold on Yeah, you got to hold on."
Put 80s channel on. Never realised there was a Tainted Love video with Marc Almond in a toga. Only remember the one with the guy in a black suit
WOW! This is just freaky. I've just discovered a phenomenon, on Youtube, where young people hear Bob Dylan for the first time. The first I saw was a young black lass who listens and suddenly realises he could've written the song yesterday. "Is this rap, I'm so confused?" It's fascinating for anyone who loves Bob Dylan, perhaps an eye opener for anyone who hates him. Hearing the songs, through someone else's reaction, is really really powerful. It's rap, but not about limos, bitches and semi-automatic weapons ... it's about real life.
Brilliant that. I quite often watch these, as you say it's great to see other people's first reactions to song you have known for years. I will post this one.... Here we have a (camp as Christmas) young Alex Ferguson reacting to Disturbed's version of Sound Of Silence. I love that music can do this....the sheer emotion of the music.
No offence to anyone but I always feel sorry for people who only like music and don't love it. I really do understand why people like Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Justin whatever his name is. It's easy listening with catchy tunes and singalong lyrics. But what people avoid is anything they have to think about or that makes them feel uncomfortable. I remember seeing Joe Cocker, in Italy, and thinking, 'FFS Joe man, that's a bit personal.'. He was singing 'I'll get by with a little help from my friends' and it was like a plea from the heart. It was so moving you wanted to hide your face.
Went to see OMD at the City Hall last night, always wanted to see them, they were simply fantastic, what a front man McLuskey is ! He had the crowd in the palm of his hand, the noise and atmosphere was class !! Took me years to finally see them and I’ll make sure it won’t be the last time
