I am feeling bit down in the dumps tonight. Watching that video perked me up. Prince was such a great musician, miss him. I have been trying to find some old radio shows to take me back in time a bit. Found an app called mixcloud and it has an archive of some of the Tommy Vance Friday Night Rock shows. I am going to put some cans on, turn the light out, and go back to what I think was a more honest time.
Used to love Tommy Vance on a Friday night, then the Hot n Heavy express on a Saturday night....when Alan Robson was bearable.
Did night owls didnt he. Was it James Whale first on that? Radio remains a real love affair for me, but I think we lack the shows of years gone by.
Literally the first band I ever saw live, and this is the song I really remember, they were supporting the lightning seeds at city hall. Me dad asked if I enjoyed the gig when he picked me and me mate up afterwards and I said I was confused because the support band was way better than the main band... he said "aye, often happens" Tune though. Me little man loves it.
Aye, Robson went on to do night owls. He loved rock music, and was great at doing the Hot n Heavy express. Friday and Saturday night radio, used to love it when I was a young teen.
Tremendous again, mate. You've got amazing taste. Another tune of tunes and the live version is ridiculous... possibly better than the album version.
That sounds like a way to just just lose yourself in the music which for me is no bad thing....... enjoy
