Odd that hes gone from a job that takes him around the world looking for players to a job behind a desk negotiating contracts. Surely his DoF responsibilities will tarnish the effectiveness of his scouting abilities?
No official news on this ... My view ... Walshy has done an absolutely phenomenal job for us, no question .... but he didn't do it in complete isolation ... if he decides to move (and good luck to him if he does - he certainly doesn't owe us anything) the John Rudkin will likely step up having been Walshy's wing man throughout the most successful recruitment campaign that the club has ever had ... Would love Walshy to stay as part of our dynasty building ... but Liverpool's success story did not end with Shankly ...
Agreed apart from the Liverpool bit, they're ****e! I wouldn't begrudge Walsh leaving in the same way I would the players jumping ship. If it's family reasons then fair enough
The majority of stories I've read are stating that he is from that area, still has family there and was a boyhood Evertonian. It would be a promotion and morey money but it does not appear that ££ is the motivating factor, if it was I'm sure Arsenal were offering plenty when they were interested and he declined to join them. As his reasons are reportedly genuine, he's been outstanding in his contribution to our club, I'd certainly be sad to see him leave us but would certainly wish him well.
Done deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36859406 Goodbye Steve - you are almost as much of a legend here as your namesake.
As mentioned elsewhere, it was part of the agreement with Everton that they can't target any of our players. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...chel-Leicester-Newcastle-transfer-news-gossip
