I was busting for a wee at Cold Blow lane once and Pompey equalised near the end, by the time I came out of the loos after the final whistle, it seemed a long lonely walk back to the coach. Scary place.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...er-Ronald-Koeman-a-glimpse-of-the-future.html

Article about how Martinez is an example of what can happen if you start very well...can raise expectations more than if you show slow progress. Not sure what Koeman could have done about that...apart from throwing a few games. Does make a good point...we have exceeded expectations...will fans now regard regular top eight as a poor result. They have missed the fact that it may be Koeman's first season, but it is our second good season (the first being a bedding in process). The article does miss another point...Everton's foray into the Europa. Koeman pointed out the effect of that prior to this match and how you have to perhaps expect it unless you have a large squad of equally good players.

I find Fratton Park more welcoming than The Den.

Some may have expectations too high and some may have missed that it is Koeman's first season.

    Some of us haven't.

Nor me, to improve upon last season is incredible.

I totally agree, but I'm not sure that is particularly relevant to the article. It's looking at next season, not last season.

I am in no doubt at all, if we find ourselves next season battling for 8th - 10th place (or even 6th - 7th place, but substantially behind the top five), then a large portion of fans will get on Koeman's back and that of the players. Even worse if it's lower than 10th. The media and the neutrals will also turn on us (for example, time and time again over the last few months, I have seen people doubting Martinez's future - even I have to a small degree).

The only way that I can't be expectations raised ahead of next season (compared to this season), is if we have another summer upheaval. I don't think losing Morgan and Toby would be sufficient to dampen those expectations, but throw in, say, Clyne, Wanyama and JWP as well and that would most likely do it (especially given Forster's injury, and Pelle's goal drought).

I would be astonished if JWP went anywhere next season.

Assuming Morgan is off, that's a big loss. Most of those others are replaceable (even Toby), but we'll really feel his absence.

If you haven't had enough of Everton v Saints, here's the full 90: http://www.footballorgin.net/2015/04/premier-league-2014-2015-everton-v.html

Apologies if posted earlier. I'm not trawling through 17 pages on an iffy. Cheers.

Tbf, we were all over them for most of the time. Lots of positives. How we didn't score [esp' Graziano] I really don't know. Howard had one of those days.
