The approach that we are a better team than you and should play without nerves as the pressure is on you lot as the trailing team? Honestly while I get the point your making about it "being in your own hands" I have no worry about Everton getting 4th even if they beat us. You will drop plenty of points before the season is up and our fixtures are far easier. Being confident in our teams ability and looking at the remaining fixtures even if we lose to you lot I still fully expect us to finish in the top 4. You can bang on about momentum all you like but the fact is its a far more important game for you lot than it is for us which is the point I was making to uir.
Everton at home is a tough game for any team in the league, so based on our mediocre current form and having some key players out, a loss isn't out of the question. But one thing this season has shown is we can beat the lesser teams. Why else do you think we are up at the top at the moment? We've really only lost or struggled against the very best and there really isn't anyone challenging enough to beat us on our current level of form. This is our remaining fixtures, 3 home and 2 away. Not very challenging is it? Home v West Ham Away v Hull Home v Newcastle Home v West Brom Away v Norwich
You seem to be wilfully ignoring who the games are against and just assuming that the last handful of games will dictate how both teams perform over the next handful of games. Which isn't reality. Whilst form goes some way to showing where the teams are at before playing each other it by no means sets a president for the next set of fixtures against totally different teams. I'd wager we will perform better against the handful of bottom half teams we have to play than we did in our string of fixtures all against the top 7. And I'd wager you will perform worse in your remaining games against the very top teams than you have in your recent fixtures.
Everton VS United Southampton VS Everton Everton VS City Those aren't exactly easy games, plus Sunderland away in an evening mid-week game isn't easy either, as Sunderland are fighting for survival. So much more tough games for Everton than Arsenal, if you could pick between the 2 fixtures, you'd pick Arsenal's.
I wasn't wilfully ignoring anything, I was merely pointing out what the current form facts are. Using your own logic there, whilst there's nothing to say that previous results will be mirrored in future fixtures, there's equally nothing that you can guarantee in terms outcomes against the supposed 'lesser' teams, just ask Chelsea All that said, you're still the favourites and should you avoid defeat on Sunday then imo it's as good as over. But IF we did manage to pull off a victory, then I think it'll prove to be an interesting run in, and whilst the fixture list does favour you, I think it'd end up having a few twists and turns left in the race.
Our board is so quiet on weekend kick offs, particularly the early ones. And the team seem to play worse in games at this time. Some weird phenomenon where those connected with arsenal are **** in the mornings?
Saw an interesting little fact in the bcc article about our game. Podolski has scored 33% of his attempts on goal in the last 2 seasons, which is higher than any player to have scored 10 goals in that time frame.
On a side note, anyone here ever make a hot girl wear their Arsenal jersey while getting it on? It's one of the best things ever in the world, I did it on Friday night. That's what you call true passion for your club. Arsenalllllllllll.
Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal; Arteta, Flamini; Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski; Giroud. Subs: Viviano, Jenkinson, Bellerin, Kallstrom, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Sanogo.
Yep... I'm still sat in front of the TV where I was when I posted yesterday morning I'm not a good morning person....
