Not all went well for Everton either with the red card for Morgan Schneiderlin and a goalless draw with Crystal Palace. However, Goodison Park has not been a happy hunting ground for Watford, who are winless in all 13 matches they have played there, drawing two and losing 11. The Hornets have led in three of their last four away fixtures against Everton, but have failed to win any of them. please log in to view this image Team News New signing Fabian Delph is a doubt after he missed the Toffees' opening fixture with a thigh injury, while Andre Gomes is being assessed, after undergoing a scan on the ankle injury that forced him off at half-time last Saturday. Leighton Baines could feature after an unspecified injury meant that he narrowly missed out on the opening match day squad last weekend. Silva will also make a late decision on Alex Iwobi's fitness ahead of a potential debut. Danny Welbeck's Watford debut may be delayed as he is still recovering from a long-term ankle injury, although he has been training with the first team. New record signing Ismaila Sarr has not done any pre-season training, so his first appearance for the Hornets is likely to be delayed. please log in to view this image Lee Mason is the referee. Yes I had two that worked well. I also had Jon Marks at the same time and they were in sync until the last 10 minutes.
I only listened to last week's defeat on the radio as I enjoy the more descriptive commentary and insight. It was not pleasant listening mind. On to Everton, it is far to early to hit the panic button but we weren't even near to being close to half decent on Sat. Things need to change this weekend with a decent performance to stop the niggling thought that I think we are in trouble this season. Can Javi mix it up or same old as usual? Can our defense hack it or are they too old for the Prem? Can we create more chances? Are we too predictable? Is Deeney getting past it? I doubt Saturday will answer those questions conclusively but you all know what I am on about. Get another hammering on Sat and I will look to see where the panic button is to potentially activate in a few more game´s time. COYH
Lino made a good call, vindicated by VAR to rule out Arsenal second. Meanwhile back on thread, any team news?
Same back line - probably shows the lack of options there! Hopefully GD is fully over his illness otherwise we won't be getting much change up front. Hughes out wide again...poor bloke. And will Pereyra do his defensive duties? Bench looks not too bad - lets hope its not too late if Gray/Welbeck are required!
Pleased Gray doesn’t start. RP has more about him and GD can unlock better. Can’t wait to see Welbeck playing alongside Troy. God, I want this today!
He did, Fez, superb, and I hope he gets due credit. I know I slagged off the VAR (Madeley) bottling the Murray handball, but that was a super decision today at speed, and needs applauding from MotD and Sky et al.
