Not Allardyce I'd take Silva tbf, but I can't see him leaving mid season. Personally I'd like to see us go for Benitez, the kopites would go into meltdown and he's a good manager, despite his history with them, but that won't happen either.
I have watched MOTD2 and of course the majority of the discussion was about Everton's recovery rather than the fact that we had them on toast at 2-0 and had 60+% possession and at times were playing rather well. I have resigned myself to the fact it was just another one of those bizarre things that happen in football, which I guess is one of the reasons we like it. We have quite number of key players injured/banned and can still put in a good performance which shows what a good squad we have. I did watch a bit of Silva's interview after the match on Watford.com and he seemed speechless, as we all were.
Maybe tonight... I was following it on the bbc sport page (I hate listening to live commentary where I care about the result) as I was sorting out some filing and repatriating my cd collection and, well, I'm just glad Mrs Fez was at her parents! Full blown tantrum like, with the greatest of respect, a severely autistic person in full meltdown mode. Embarrassing. God knows what the neighbours must have thought because I am powerfully voiced - alas not the stamina for the 1881, but I do my bit on our travels - and even though I live in a decent sized detached house I reckon they would have heard me all the way into Aylesbury town centre! My main problem is that it's Everton... or Liverpoo, or Tranmere even... we always seem to get the poop end of the stick (that Tranmere game excepted) be it a Rush dive or a Nevin dive or an Andy Gray assault or a Chris Powell "penalty".... aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!!!
I was also on glass cleaning duty at the end of the game, temper, temper. Stupid over football really.
Absolutely. Totally irrational. What makes it worse is that we do know better, we have no control over any of what happens over the pitch from our remote location, and we maintain an air of calmness when much worse things happen than losing a football match. I suppose it's the emotional investment and it becomes a channel for venting our frustrations of the rest of the week? And no, I still haven't....(genuinely couldn't find the time last night)
Finally watched it.... Karnezis? What the actual f??? Zonal marking? Two free at the back of the six yard box?? What the actual f??? Sort it out Marco!!! Nailed on penalty from Holebas, there is no intent in the law. However, he was cautioned and it is not clear why... anything other than dissent is just plain wrong from the referee. Cleverly's penalty miss was, well, of biblical proportions. All of it played out like a Greek tragedy with Shakespearean pathos. I feel physically sick after watching that!
