Of course they make mistakes, especially the commercial side etc, but they have done more good than bad decisions the past 10 years. As for Bony coming on, I was hoping he would have come on at half time with Dyer, with Lamah and Alvaro going off. We could have won that game second half.
I dont know if you have been to see laudrups team play or not or know what laudrups record of wins he managed to make during his reign because if you had then you cant fail to see what a poor unimaginative manager he actually was. He would never in a million years get the players motivated if he played the same team to give the commitment they did today and we would have been slaughtered by at least double what we lost by today.....If you cant see how bad that he was with every single thing to do with running the club then you must be wumming or blind...He did the same at his other clubs previous and we are well rid. Thank god he was not in charge today because that would be what i call embarrassing......Well we have finally seen sense and laudrup is no more and we wont have to watch his negative type of football ever again and that is something worth celebrating about more than any narrow loss against everton....the only way is up now where we will see better football, players playing for each other and a manager who actually knows what he is doing....Thank god we can erase laudrup from our minds knowing he will never darken our club ever again....
He could have held the ball up and thread it through for the likes of a Routs, Dyer and Pablo running goal bound.
My point is, no matter how many great things they can do, it only takes a handful of bad mistakes to ruin what they built, so they need to be accountable when they do make mistakes. - Giving Ki guaranteed games is one - Not knowing the recall date on one of their own players could have had a huge effect on the outcome of our season, its lucky for the board that ML didn't seem to fancy Ki, but what if he had been sacked sooner, not even GM would have been able to recall. There are past instances where we have questioned the professionalism of the board, such as HJ coming out in the match programme going against what the manager has said previously, yes they can disagree, but at least put on a united front, don't cause problems by posting **** like like that, you know yourself it created a huge debate on this little swans forum, so imagine what that does on the grander scale? These things can harm a club in a major way, and if anything underhanded has gone on with the sacking of ML, then think what damage that can do to us as a club.
What I am now wondering is, after the turmoil over Laudrup, has our board panicked and now ditching all competitions other than the Premier League? Like I've said before Laudrup was sacked £70 Million is one hell of an incentive. I hope we field a strong team against Napoli, but I'm not so sure.
You mean that ML would not have been able to beat a better team on their own ground. Damn my memory must be going nuts, cos last I checked the previous round we beat United on their patch.
The ball still has to get to him though. We were incredibly poor second half Guzman, Dyer and Hernandez barely touched the ball. Did we have a single attempt at goal??....a half-arsed Lamah shot maybe.
Aloevera had bloody loads of good oportuinity, he is crap! Lita came on late and game was over.......................
Agree, that's why I said on mikras thread it's put up or shut up time regarding all involved as it is damaging all sides reputations. I just hope to God that the rumours about Laudrup are true so that the club comes out unscathed. If not serious questions of the board will need to be asked.
After this team selection today, I'm prepared to justify it if it means we go all out against Napoli. Anything less than our strongest, well, I'll leave that until Thursday night if we put a similar side to today's out.
He would not have got the same commitment from the players in a million years today......He has gone, he is no more so its irrelevant what laudrup would do as he should have done it while he had the chance...He failed with a whimper and i for one are over the moon to get one of the worst managers i have ever witnessed in all my years watching football....
Of course ML wouldn't have got the same commitment, because Laudrup wouldn't have fielded such a weakened team, so your point is irrelevant in regards to dissing ML.
Nobody is looking at the real big picture here, here are a few facts... We have a small squad, smaller than it should be knowing the amount of games we could possibly be involved with this season and on top of that we have key players injured or out on loan. We have some massive games coming up against Napoli (home & away) and a big game against Liverpool so put yourself in Monks shoes and try and decide which is the best way to deal with this with a small squad, Do we risk putting out a full strength squad against everton in the FA cup who we have never beaten in our history and risk injuring any more key players when we have some important games coming up in a very short time....The sensible answer to this after weighing up all the options is a definite NO. If we did play our strongest side and we did lose more key players then it wont only be just everton game we would lose it would put in jeopardy our chances against napoli and liverpool and the rest of the season. Football is about percentages and monk had to make a hard decision and for me due to our small squad and injured players he made the absolute right decision....And credit where credit is due the players he selected never let him down with their commitment against a side that was far superior to them... Look at the Big picture before jumping the gun and blaming monk for a very hard decision as manager he had to make, I think it was a very courageous and brave decision that shows he has it in him to be a very good manager...
So with such a small squad and all the injuries Laudrup was faced with , and having top clubs all in a row to play .... hows that big picture dai
After flirting with the relegation places and what ever has gone on with ML I think they have all decided survival is top priority and getting to the end of the season to strengthen every aspect is understandable. If fielding a weakened fa cup team disappointing as that was increases the odds of us staying up due to not risking injuries or what ever then maybe its a price worth paying at this time ? How would we be feeling going into the last part of the season if Bony and another key player were injured for weeks in today's game ? If we are still here next season and things have settled down we can have another go at it but trying to get promoted back up would be a lot harder to do. With injured players coming back then i think the Napoli game may be worth risking a few of our best players but survival is probably more important to the possibly over cautious management ?
