Against Watford I disagree. We were 2 up and playing well and then Pellegrino had us sitting back and inviting pressure. So we did bring it on ourselves in that to an extent. What I'm trying to say is that **** refereeing has played a very small part in where we are. It's played a part but not a significant one. If we had a competent manager from game one we wouldn't be here. If we replaced Pellegrino earlier we probably wouldn't be here. If we made more signings in January we probably wouldn't be here. All these are far bigger reasons for where we are. I'm not defending the referee's or those decisions but I don't like it when they're used as an excuse for our predicament. Every club has been on the wrong end of poor decisions, it just hurts us more.

Were the Everton fans as bad as they appeared on the stream TLL?, I mean, we moan about SMS but literally the only time I heard them last night was when they booed their team off at half time.

The parallels from 2005 scare me.

Go 2-0 at home and lose 3-2, 5 games from the end of the season. Check
Have a good cup run. Check
Have a 'great' victory at home 3 games before the end of the season. Check
Concede a last gasp goal against Everton when a player should have taken it to the corner flag/hit row ZZZ. Check
Play a rival in the penultimate game. Check
Play a Manchester club in the last game. Check
Liverpool get to Champions League final. Check

I'm not sure you if you are joking, it's hard to tell online in a Forum, but Swansea City have lost eight home games this season:
    Brighton 0-1
    Chelsea 0-1
    Leicester 1-2
    Manchester City 0-4
    Manchester United 0-4
    Newcastle 0-1
    Tottenham Hotspur 0-2
    Watford 1-2

Saints have won two away games all season
    Crystal Palace 1-0
    West Bromwich Albion 3-2

Swansea have scored 16 home goals in 17 games and Saints 16 away goals in 18 games but City have conceded 21 in the same span and we've conceded 30.

It probably looks like another draw but all of those figures have nothing to do with the outcome really. It's all about the night, the players who are up-for-it or who aren't nervous and so forth - and then the luck of the draw and dare I say it that one decision that goes for or against you. Who knows?

Staying in the Premiership would be nice, but we'll never be any more than a sixth-placed club, going down to the Championship won't be ideal but if we manage it correctly neither will it be disastrous, with luck, a following wind, maybe a few seasons to settle in we could actually win a League title. The first since 1959-60 and only our third Football League title in all this time.

Don't forget the embarrassing exit from the League Cup to a 2nd Division side, although it was in the 4th round.

Yeah it was awful. Our end was brilliant though, was me and a few others that got the great escape going.

They booed them off at ht, booed when we scored and then woke up for the last twenty minutes so.

All the scousers I spoke to were sound as **** though, a good bunch.

Can understand the apathy with Sam though, understand what @Tobes means by grimacing whenever he looks over at the dugout. I'd hate to have him here.

Because he blew up instantly didn't he?

For what it's worth I didn't time it obviously but at the ground I thought Cedric had been down for a while right at the beginning of injury time, no complaints from me for the timing.

Why don’t we import officials from other countries like Europe etc?

Might help to improve standards? We do it with players?

The chances of it happening are still massively slim. Even more so when you consider that Swansea might not need to chase the win against Stoke; a point for them might well be sufficient (especially when you consider that Tuesday would have had to finish level, for WBA to still be alive) - whether to finish above us, or Huddersfield.

But fair play to them for giving it a go.

Yeah but "adding 30 seconds" doesn't mean you have another 30 seconds of playing time, it just means the ref blows the whistle 30 seconds later than he would have done without the goal (so maybe when the clock shows 96:30 instead of 96:00). I'm pretty sure that if Davies had stuck that last shot into the stands the ref would either have blown up instantly or as soon as McCarthy took the resulting goal kick. Instead he allows the re-start and then blows up instantly.

Major incompetence of the football side of the club is the reason why we are in the ridiculous situation we find ourselves in now.

Whilst this is very true, we'd be 7 points better off and comfortably safe if blatantly obvious decisions went in our favour and major mistakes weren't made ....
