Sorry for Stoke because we can empathise, but this is war! I was expecting a lot of things to go against us today, but, so far, one down.
Okay, since I got back to the UK, our fortunes have improved - you're all welcome, happy to help. So, I've been up north for two weeks, havent been able to get near a Saints game but DONT PANIC - I'm now in Surrey so am still miles away from Saints. I think, there's a correlation between my proximity and our success, NZ was way too far away but 2-300 miles seems about right. If I'm right, you can all buy me a virtual beer. If I'm wrong well, its probably your fault not mine after all.
Peter Crouch owes us....I hold him solely responsible for our relegation under the Prince of Darkness.
I'm not going to be unhappy if we win this one. In fact, I'll go so far as to say it'll be quite lovely. Vin
No nitpicking about team selection from me...I just hope that whoever plays understands the enormity of their responsibility today and leaves it all out there on the pitch. we can do this...COYR!!!
I really hope this is the formation we played with against Bournemouth, and not the formation from the Semi-Final
That's a side set up not to concede. Keep things tight, and see how things pan out. If Bmouth can hold on, it might not be a bad strategy.
For anyone wanting us to go for this, you can forget that now. Now, with Swansea (and Stoke) losing, a point today becomes huge. Granted, not as huge as winning (of course not), but still huge. A point tonight, followed by a win against Swansea, would put us three points clear of Swansea with a GD that is 9 better (or 11, or 13 etc) than them. We'd be 80% safe. Yes it would force us to have to beat Swansea, but realistically we need to do that anyway. Even if we were to win tonight, if we lost or draw to Swansea then realistically we'd finish below them (you have to assume that they'll best Stoke, and we'll lose to City). So in that case, Huddersfield would be our only escape route. And a win for them against Arsenal would slam the door shut on that escape route. Hence I think we need to beat Swansea. Hence a point today, is no bad thing. Try and win the game, yes. (COYR!!). But not at the expense of a point.
