How comes we have by far the worst schedule? How is that justified?

 

I know we haven't set the world on fire, but having the WBA match so soon after the Spurs game can't have helped. We have largely overlooked that, whereas it was mentioned on Sky that our players looked knackered (may not have used that very word).

 

I'm going to start a thread at some point entitled something like, "Saints: optimist or pessimist?" Inspired by a recent Redmond shot. All will be revealed though I'm saving it for when there's not much else to talk about. Anyway, your post is a classic of what it is to be a Saints supporter. Basically, anything could happen.

 

The West Brom match SHOULD have helped. It gave us a chance to turn a losing feeling into a winning one a matter of days later but we blew it royally. The last thing the squad would have wanted was a week or more to dwell on the Spurs horror show.

 

30,975 was a good crowd considering the opposition, not noted for being entertaining, the majority expected a Saints win as a foregone conclusion, sadly that kind of complacency bit everyone on the backside, fans and team alike.

 

I agree. However, 2 days is a very short turn around. Was a massive chance missed....we should have got something from this game, but we have a history of losing this type of game. The big disappointment this season is the lack of excitement around the team....we will get enough wins and draws, but I am beginning to doubt that any games will be memorable (except in a 'how did we win that' sort of way).

 

Can't see us getting anything out of this. Either 2-0 or 3-0 everton I'd go for.

I'm not particularly bothered about a lack of a winter break, but I do hope that this is the final year where we have this unfairness. I get that games are moved for TV, and I generally have no problem with that. But the PL need to ensure that other non-TV games are correspondingly moved, to ensure fairness. WBA got two days on us, Everton have got 1 day on us. And it's not just us.

 

Was expecting a draw and a win from the last two games - expecting defeat in this one - so on that basis I have some (small) hope for this one... oh to be a Saints fan!

 

Am I the only one on here who woke up this morning, realised it was a match day, and thought "Oh no, not again...?"

 

I can't remember the last time I did this... but I will try not to watchany streams today.

A) it is too depressing
B) hoping for the non-watch jinx
C) we are increasingly tedious to watch...

 

No, I woke up this morning as well, then I listened to Mr Puel and nodded off again.

I agree a lot of our fans seem to have expected a fairly comfortable Saints win. But I can only wonder, are they nuts? A comfortable win, against a Pulis side? When has that ever happened? And when did we become Chelsea (who, btw managed to concede 2 at home to Stoke)?

 

Is there a Blind Lemon Jefferson tune in there somewhere?
