I think this team is pretty much bang on. Only doubt is Minamino, if he isnt fit then a toss up between Adams and N'Lundulu
Is everyone forgetting MiniMetro? As soon as he's fit, he's in for Redmond. Any idea when Theo is back too?
It’s unlikely we will go down, but form has to improve significantly. Which doesn’t look like happening. Every week we gain 0 points that chance of rain goes up a bit.
To be honest, the best thing about watching the game tonight on my computer was that it meant I didn't have to watch The Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix which was what my wife watched on the TV. I've resigned myself to thinking we will be pants all season, and just want it finished now
Yeh yeh and meantime there are people saying they can’t take the whingeing elsewhere. I know where I’m happiest
Apart from the players (when fit), coaching staff/manager that we had when we went to the top of the league... no evidence at all. I think you must have been in holiday then because we didn’t hear too much from you. same staff. Same manager. Not the same players available. More tired players.
Who said we're tired? I thought Everton did exactly we've been doing these last few weeks. Get ahead and then fail to take advantage so let the other team back in. Had Vesty's shot gone in at the end this forum would have been over the moon. And a draw would have been fully deserved. When we start winning again we will look back on a game like this as the turning point. One where we were allowed a good deal of possession and got some of our confidence back. I think we can build on this for Saturday. Remember we're probably only 2 wins away from safety then we really can concentrate on the cup (which is where some players minds are, for sure). A few points from tonight. Djenepo gets better and better but is it my imagination or are opposition starting to target him with really meaty tackles? Bedders is no right back but at the end of the day they had no luck down that side. Bedders was well protected by Djenepo and looked his old self as CB when Salisu went off. Salisu needs to make sure players don't wind him up. Otherwise solid. Armstrong did OK in CM - broke up play, moved the ball forward well on occasions but again, not his best position. We looked so much better (balanced) after Redders went off and actually started to use the width more effectively. He was totally ineffective second half and Tella deserves his place on Saturday.
if I ask the question again, will you avoid it again? who do you you suggest we bring in and what will be different with our current situation?
Sorry Piers Morgan. I don’t know, but then again I’m not paid £6 million a year to make those decisions. But it’s not great that we are void of attacking ideas / threat, when our right back is not playing. Maybe I’d expect players like Ings, Redmond, JWP to step up a bit more when times are tough. Don’t have a leader on the pitch, someone who would stand up, drive the team forward. It’s where we miss PEH imho.
Maybe I'm misreading the whole thing, but there seem to be plenty of people who blame tiredness for us only playing for 45 minutes every game.
Just one thing to add - when I'm saying 'we look tired', I don't just mean physically. We look mentally tired, and a ****house of a run will do that to you. Our game, when we're good, is all about speed of thought and movement. When you're tired (physically and mentally) those are the first things that go. And that's what's happening right now. Unfortunately swapping the players out for kids doesn't improve that really.
And it's where we'll miss Romeu. But it's also where we'll improve again once we get Diallo back. He has that in his locker, and weirdly, being injured will mean he's coming back fresher too.
I hope and believe so. Yes we have injuries and yes they look knackered, but you also put on top of that that we have a number of players all hitting a run of poor form at the same time.
