Seems very ambitious to have Lambert, Rodriquez, Ramirez & Lallana all together for a tough away game. Leaves only Ward Prowse and Davis who would be classed as natural midfielders. They need to be tighter and sacrifice Rodriguez for a midfielder. Is Schneiderlin injured or have I missed something ?
And you couldn't before Jelavic, Pienaar, Osman, Fellani, Baines etc. That's not exactly much worse than what Arsenal had to throw at us. Everton should finish top 6 this season, comfortably.
I don't think we're playing too badly in all honesty. Two strong finishes and a caking of bad luck on the first. No need for so much hyperbole here. This team is UCL quality.
This was a stupid formation when we don't have the discipline in midfield to play it. Should have played 442 with Rodriguez dropping deep with these players
Credit for Nigel for wanting to go for this, but I'd been saying in the lead up to this game that I'd quite like us to just try and shut up shop in this game. And as we clearly had no chance of doing through quality of defensive players, then try and do it with quantity of defensive players. So by all means drop Puncheon, but start Hooiveld or Chaplow or someone rather than Jay. But hey ho.
Everton look possible top 4 contenders. No shame losing to them. Just don't concede too many, i'd rather you guys stay up than people who don't even try and play football (Stoke, WHU etc.)
