I think everybody dodged a bullet with Benteke last summer. He was valued at 20 million and after last seasons performances, Villa will be lucky to get half of that now. He's just another Cisse, Jelavic etc.

I think Lukaku is a fantastic signing for Everton. Still only 21 and only Suarez and Van Persie got more then him last season. I can see him ending up at a great European club and Everton doubling their money in a few years.

So it sign on dotted line or be flogged time for Wickham.. even if flogged off...he is british/young/a striker ..and hence will be hugely overpriced I would imagine ..

Remy and him would be...OK ...(we would have FOUR!!! count them 4, strikers...unlike every other team in the world, we persist in the belief that one striker on loan per season is more than adequate) Just cant see CW being anything more..than a Shola in development/waiting. (if we got him would love to be proved wrong but)

If we could get CW for say..5 mil...personally would rather spend that on 2..Perez types. Young, cheap wages, borderline possible 1st teamer's, as development /future

Agreed about Lukaku this season.. Excellent, if pricey, business for Everton. Just cant see, apart from not having the money to spend due to initial investment, how Everton are going to lose out on signing him

We have millions in the fat controllers bank..from past transfers / TV money etc .. Lukaku is exactly the sort of 'occasional' signing we should be making ... Its a no lose situation ..from a purely investment-wise point of view, and totally ignoring the footballing reasons.
But ..we are owned by the King of cheap tat ... and all that entails philosophically (better to invest in a dangerous 3rd world child based factory..than do things...right)

You reckon? He was crippled with injuries last year, but looks a good player.

You're right about Lukaku, great player, steady premiership performances for a few years now, rarely injured and gets his quota of goals. Probably improve a bit over the next few years as well.

Had to laugh at today's news that Samuel E'To wants £120K a week to sign for West Ham. Well past it and if they agree to it Fat Sam must be crackers.
