The problem they've got atm, Man utd, Brighton, Villa and Spurs next 4, that could be a total of 4 points from first 8 games, can only see any points from Villa in that lot, with a derby at Forest next up, they really could be in the doo doo by then, they really have to find a big win from one of those tough games.

    Have they been great though?
Look at the league finishes after they won it:
    12th
    9th
    9th
    5th
    5th
    8th.

They won the FA Cup. Knockout trophies are greast to win, but a favourable draw can make all the difference.

    3rd Stoke City (A) 4–0
    4th Brentford (A) 3–1
    5th Brighton & Hove Albion (H) 1–0
    QF Manchester United (H) 3–1
    SF Southampton (N) 1–0

It would be more impressive if the squad was littered with club trained youth.
Leicester currently have 4 (four) academy trained players in the first team squad.
That’s as many as Newcastle btw.

It's rather relative. I mean, if that was Manchester City with their mega budget getting that... It would be terrible.

If any time prior to Leicester's PL title you told me they would go on a seven year run and average 7th place, I would say that's pretty impressive for little Leicester.

Considering their budget and fan base. Averaging 7th over the last seven years is pretty decent. It's history now though, that average is only going to drop lower for the foreseeable future and maybe even relegation looms.

They are hardly ‘little Leicester’though are they?
On average they’ve had the 7th highest wage bill for the last five years.

They had a big boost from winning the title, but were they anywhere near 7th highest wage bill before then? I'm asking... I don't actually know the answer but suspect the wage bill went up after success in their case.

    No idea mate.
I don’t even know if they did have the 7th highest wage bill, it just suited my arguement.

Had the misfortune of watching Everton for the first time this season last night. Genuinely thought it was injuries that killed their season last year but they are awful.

If Leicester finish below Everton they'll be relegated.

No wins after a favourably run of games, but they do look a bit harder to beat . Another relegation battle I think

Lots of draws. Setup with a GK and 9 defenders hoping Gordon can pinch something at the other end.

    Survival mode already.

Very good post mate ... football is about cycles and there will always be peaks and troughs... we've been lucky enough to have had some amazing peaks in the last decade but there is always a point where you have to cope with the trough ... even the biggest clubs ... like United.

I get the feeling that we would actually like to move Youri Tielemans on rather than keep him now ... and not just from a financial perspective... as much from the ethos of only wanting players at the club that are fully committed because those that aren't undermine the squad's 'togetherness' ... rumour that Liverpool have submitted a 'cheeky' £19 million bid this morning ... if true I think he would jump at it, if we are willing to take the price...

Maddison (and Barnes) are different... club really wants to build the next generation team around them and the likes of Dewsbury-Hall and James Justin.

Too late to replace him if you sell him. (Almost too late to sell him).

He's been on the bench for the Prem games so far apart from when he came in for the injured Maddison at Chelsea ... Brenda wants Madders to have the central role rather than being played wider ... Dewsbury-Hall gets the more left sided role with either Ndidi or Soumare in the central role ...

Feels like Brenda isn't going to start a player that isn't fully committed or is the subject of 'interest' and is on a short contract ... which is why Soyuncu is yet to play in the Prem this season too ... much to the frustration of the fans ...

If you have "too much depth" in your squad then surely you could cope with any amount of injuries ?
So wtf was with all whining about injuries last season?

Club's stance was that he was not for sale despite the overall financial position... but when you start not turning up to training and being generally disruptive the only real alternative is to get rid ... provided you get a price which suits your valuation ... looks like we did ...

From a footballing perspective, absolutely gutted to lose such a talent ... from a supporting my club perspective, happy to get rid... for the reasons already given.
