When up against bayern the other week we had 12 players out. More out of any league in Europe including lower divisions. It's not quite just dealing with the odd injury. We have had a largely weakened squad for very argue chunks of the beginning and recent parts of the season. I'm more concerned about why we seem to struggle with so many injuries. When half your squad is out at the same time any team will struggle. Particularly with a handful of guaranteed starters out for sustained periods together. It isn't the first season either. In recent years we seem to be constantly hampered by injuries. A good example being the 8-2 loss to utd whilst we had 8 defenders out at the same time. It definitely needs to be looked at.
They also need to ask questions as to how the team can start so slowly game after game. Even last night (from what I've heard and read) it took the Swansea goal to shake them into any kind of meaningful action. Once or twice might be an "accident" but it seems to be a common occurence of late.
Firstly Ramsey was playing far better than yaya at the start of the season and was easily best cm in the league for the first half of the season before getting injured. And secondly oxo isn't fit to lace Walcott boots. Walcott is absolutely lethal. He has some of the best stats for a wide player in the league for the last few seasons. And is quite likely the first name on our team sheet when he is fit! No comparison with him and oxox. Oxo is at a far earlier point in his development. Quality player but Walcott is easily first choice ahead of him.
i think there's a lot of bad luck in arsneal's issues but also bad planning. giroud was only forward option. ozil was over played. Ramsey and walcott were bad luck but they've injury history too. The bad starts is frankly confidence. they've lost that and so are negative. we've seen arsenal been great starters when on form too.
In reply to the op. Everton still have to play us, city, utd and 3 teams who are in a relegation fight. And despite the game in hand sit 6 points behind. I won't be concerned in the slightest unless they are able to beat us. And even they I would still expect them to be dropping points during the run in given there remaining fixtures. It's most definitely arsenals to lose and personally I can't see it happening.
But Walcott-Ramsey are as important to our team as Yaya-Messi are to theirs, that's my point, they are our KEY players, any team who loses their key players, will struggle. Walcott was our best player last season, so don't see why you're laughing him off as some sort of not big deal injury for us, for Arsenal he is one of our main players, and we miss him. As for OX being better than Walcott? I don't know anyone who's ever said that.
What are they feeding them there at the Emirates? They get injured so often the poor wabbit-a*sed f*cks.
I think Ox has more potential - take away his speed, and he will become a good player unlike Theo. Theo, Ramset etc are injury prone. Are you going to replace them or just persist with them in hope that they can see out an entire season?
Honestly every time you comment you sound less and less informed. Ramsey isn't injury prone. He had one horrific injury and since then has barely had time out at all. Walcott is rather injury prone though the latest was unlucky. But he is much better than oxo and saying he isn't a good player is just stupidity on your part.
Theo was our top scorer with 18 goals last season, this season when he's barely played he has gotten us 6 goals and a number of assists, so don't know what you're on about when you say he isn't a good player.
Sorry MITO, I don't think that Arsenals' dilema is based upon bad luck but poor management. Wenger has had the means for nearly 2 seasons to go and buy the players that he needs to complete his squad. Yet he has not done so. That is not bad luck (OK targets can be missed but....) it is piss poor management. Add to that the failure to properly bring through young players - which Wenger was capable of! Top that off with a reluctance to truly change the style of play. None of that is down to luck. KK was castigated for buying poorly yet he changed the pattern of play and brought a new excitement to the club - and a liking for hitting the woodwork!. However, it took the changes that Rodgers brought about to move the side forward. Like Arsenal we still have plenty of work to do on our defence but we will do it and there's the difference. Now I do agree that Arsenal should be looking very closely at both their medical staff and their training methods because something is very wrong there.
He said if you take away his speed..... Again though you guys digress. We all accept that a large injury list can contribute to a team suffering. However let's take Yaya as an example (or even Gerrard for us). City would undoubtedly be a lesser side without him we can agree on that, however what would they do (or even us if Gerrard was crocked) in a January transfer window if they knew they'd be without him? They'd bring someone else in (other than some Danish no-mark). Now we haven't all got the cash to splash that City have I know but still, Arsenal shouldn't be so financially restrained that they can't afford to bring in some class in a January window should they? If we lost Suarez next season to injury I like to think we'd look to bring someone in in January even if it was just a short term purchase. It's called ambition.
Your entire view is based on the assumption you make in your first paragraph that we have been able to spend prior to this season which is simply untrue.
He problem is once you bring the player in they are here for the duration of year get ex contract. We have been hurt beforeb y having **** players on contracts and struggling to shift them. So I can see why we only looked at loan signings (which is what the fans where asking for). We where never going to get a top target in January as in the positions we needed the players where not available. I t was about depth, but not at the detriment of the squad in the future. I.e. Only if the quality is good enough is it worth bothering.
If you actually read what I posted then you would find that I said "Wenger has had the means for nearly 2 seasons to go and buy the players that he needs to complete his squad. Yet he has not done so." Now, I didn't make that up, it came from statements by your club plus comments from your own supporters!
Heart says Everton, head says Arsenal (not that I have ANYTHING against the Gunners). I know if Everton win all their remaining games it's great for us!
