As much as we may moan on here, despite 1 point in 9 games, continually conceding from the same mistakes and last minute goals. Being rock bottom and being almost certainties for the drop already. The crowd hasn’t turned yet. I thought it was going to at Leicester, but I think the ref stole the show with that ****ing horrific performance. If we lose, maybe even draw (depending on how that happens) the crowd will surely turn on RM today. Winning today really could be, and needs to be the springboard for a massive turnaround in our fortunes in the PL this season (and with RM as our manager).

Will we get a another dysfunctional XI with no functional tactics that will malfunction after twenty minutes?

Seems insane that we are going into this game with Martin in charge.

Just went for a read on the Everton forum and they seem pretty certain they’ll lose today as well.

    Maybe we’ll both lose

Think their record at St Marys is similar to our record at Goodison

They will definitely win today though

What do you classify as the crowd turning? I thought booing and many people leaving early. Has that not already happened?

Not at all. It’s obvious when the crowd have turned as it’s palpable and widespread. Some “fans” always boo when you lose and as for leaving early - don’t get me started. Apparently having made all the effort to pay for tickets, brave the weather and traffic to get to the game, it’s also wise to leave the game 3 mins early with the game in the balance to “beat the traffic” on the way home. Rant over

Yes but what does it actually mean and how do you measure or decide if the crowd has ‘turned’. Is it a gradual thing? Is it different for one person to another as to whether it’s happened? I’m genuinely asking not trying to be pedantic. I don’t see how the crowd can still be on board. What have our attendances been this season?

It can’t be scientifically proved by stats! If you are there you know - the atmosphere would be toxic and the boos would come from the majority, not a minority. Plenty of reasons to not turn - realism about the state of football, the premier league and our place in it. The fact that against most people’s predictions we got promoted at the first time of asking. The fact that we already thought we wouldn’t survive in this league. The fact we actually have an identity and a way of playing the game compared with the sh** show we had descended to. The fact there does now appear to be togetherness and spirit in the team. The fact that we have been competitive in most games and with a little more luck, better refs and better decisions we should currently not even be in the bottom 3. The question as to what the alternative would be. I get that it’s just not tenable to go on losing every game but those are my genuine thoughts for why the situation isn’t yet untenable and the crowd have not turned.

Every home league game has sold out.

Regarding your question I don't think there's any black and white answer. It's more just a feeling when you're inside the ground. For Ralph it was the first 3-0 at Brentford imo with the "don't know what you're doing chants".

That reminds me of Sunderland away many moons ago when Gareth Bale equalised in the last minute. Me & my mate got up early, took a flight to Newcastle, train to Sunderland and were in the Pub by 11. I stopped drinking at 2pm as I realised it could get messy. My mate didn't. The Saints fans celebrations when the goal went in woke him up....All that way and he missed the best bit :)

Yeah I’m guessing it’s just a feeling but was interested to know what gave people those vibes. I think negative chants are probably the turning point.

All very valid points and reasons not to turn. Personally I’m not focused on them myself so can’t help but feel negative.

It worries me when I see RM saying that Arma is very close to being picked, followed by “he’s someone you always want in the team”.
He’s a better option than BBD and Cornet, but not much.
I don’t think Sam Amo was involved with the U21s last night so maybe he will be on the bench again, I just hope if he is and does get on the pitch it’s in the right position.
Having players go past the FBs might be our only chance of getting into decent crossing positions.
