The "Mauled" chant started as a bit of a laugh when under Dolan we actually went in front. Only people who weren't going in those pre Adam Pearson days or who have had irony bypass operations don't get it and think it is a meaningful chant.
Nail on Head The North Stand is a disaster area because of the cost difference in N4 N3 And why the **** do the cops have to spend 90mins filming anyone in N5 who stands up and sings ???? Grrrrr
Think that embarrasses them more than us. The whole Soccer AM culture of modern day football is for real life, proper ****s.
Spot on there, Ben. Far too many of them attracted to the KC since we made our first ever appearance in the top flight. Funny enough, when it first started it wasn't a bad programme, with fairly interesting features like the Fans Forum. Then it started suffering from what Clive James call the Frank Sinatra syndrome, the likes of Lovejoy then other presenters thinking that people were there to watch and listen to them rather than there to watch they do. Though in Sinatra's case a lot would have been happy if he walked on, waved and had a chat without singing just to say they had seen him.
I remember it when Gary Stevens (ex Spurs and BHA) was the main presenter and Lovejoy was the 'kerr-aa-zee' funny man in a 5 min slot. A bit like Top Gear when Angela Rippon used to be the main head.
It still was alright when Lovejoy and Chamberlaiin took over, before they decided the were "personalities" and people were tuning in to see them rather than the content (As per Clive James and his Frank Sinatra Syndrome). Its decline started with the ending of the Soccer Am Soccerette due to complaints from,po-faced PC types.
