brb - what are you trying to do ?? -- are you hoping to be banned from Priestfield ?
I've been saying, for a while, that Evans' tactics have been wrong.( hoofball - and either no substitutes, or when it's been too late. ))
I can have some sympathy for him - because of the poor tools at his disposal - but the style of football has been extremely ineffective - in terms of goals... maybe the current squad is incapable of anything better -- in which case - what's the point of paying anyone to be a manager (( mind you, the same philosophy could apply to our Chairman. )) --- do you think that we are both in danger of having 'free' Saturday afternoons in the near future?
You know me mate, say what I see and that was depressing. I'm not faulting Evans btw, I'm merely saying change is as good as a rest, we can't carry on the way we are going, otherwise we will no longer be the longest current occupants of L1, albeit this was the cup.

The problems start with Scally.... He seems incapable of making things 'happen' at GFC...... I will admit that some of the reasons are not within his control -- and maybe the effects of the 'uncontrollable' reasons on all other aspects of running a 'better' football club, is too dramatic at the current time...... Maybe the only real way that things could change is if there is a massive cash injection into the playing budget...................... the 'reverse' situation is constantly being bleated as an excuse for the limitations that fans should expect..... so - if there is no money - don't expect anything different (for a long time.).................. and, in all of this,
.... we have a Chairman who has manipulated control of the 'business' side of the Club, in such a way that he has total 'power.' (( it's a pity that he takes so long to realise that with great power, comes great responsibility. ))......... And, in the 'exalted' position occupied by Mr. Scally (( you know, the person who has spent precisely £ ONE of his own money on the Club )), he is still able to take out a couple of HUNDREDS of thousands of ££££££ every year - £Millions over 26 years............... and, as I have previously stated - I don't blame him !!
I suppose I might even go so far as to say that there appears to be little point in GFC having a very expensive chairman - who seems incapable of doing anything to prevent the 'freefall' of everything related to the Club.

I wonder if he'll say that The Owls are a ''massive'' club - with ''massive'' this, that and the other.. He may say, as usual, that they have a 'massive' budget -- but Sheffield Wednesday are currently under a transfer embargo - only allowed to sign 'free' transfers and loanees.

No way, only hope we have to stay in league 1. Pretty sure he will go in summer. Hopefully Flynn will still be available.
What's the point in waiting, if you rate him and he's available now, Flynn can either do the job or he can't? So in a way you contradict yourself, by saying our only hope of staying in L1, but then rating another manager if available.
The way we are going, Evans could relegate us, I take it you've had a look at the table recently. With the January window coming up, wouldn't it be better to give financial opportunity to a new manager, rather than one that is currently failing.
As Greta often points out to those in power, all I hear in post match interviews these days is blah, blah, blah.
Let's be honest here, yesterday was dire against a below average L1 side. We had player(s) who couldn't even be arsed to run for loose balls, I assume you saw what I saw.
Maybe I set my expectations too high, by asking for at least L1 average. Why wait 6 months for a manager to say goodbye, we need to be preparing now.
Do you think this would have been accepted under Martin Allen, well we all know the answer to that one!

The point is we have best chance of staying up with Evans in charge. We won't be able to do much in January with our transfer embargo. New manager will have his hands tied. We will probably only have 13 fit players next weekend. Ackhurst and Lintrot may both have to start as full backs.

Not convinced Evans leaving is the answer here. Regardless of who we have, we still have limited funds to bring anybody else in and arguably lose the pulling power that Evans has. There must be a reason so many players are happy to come and play for him again.
I don't disagree the football hasn't been the prettiest but we do have players who can actually play, the issue we have is they're all bloody injured. The atmosphere and small attendance is very much the chairman's fault as it is the manager's. Evans doesn't help himself the way he conducts himself in certain scenarios. I personally didn't agree on calling out Akinde for having childcare issues when the reality is, most parents at some stage will suffer with childcare problems regardless of the profession they're in. Akinde's commitment could perhaps be questioned by the fact he couldn't be bothered to run for a ball that was five yards away from him but hey, that's not necessarily the manager's fault.
We're in a position now where we have a squad of players set up to play a certain way, whilst some do have ability, the length of time it will take to adapt the style of play under a new manager I don't think will benefit us right now. In my opinion changing the manager now would probably be the last nail in the coffin for the chairman for the fans who do still go and I can't see a change being better with what we currently have.

I've watched Gillingham long enough to know we've been far worse managerially than where we are now, even despite our current league position. Pennock, tactically inept at this level. Taylor, born and still lives in the stone ages when it comes to how his teams want to play. Hessenthaler, score loads, concede even more whilst having 18 players injured doing it. Stimson, brilliant at home, can't hit a barn door away. Lovell, Jekyll and Hyde, win a game, draw a game, lose a game then repeat. JE, believed too much in his own hype and reliance on Dack & Egan to get us out of trouble. Mad Dog, football didn't work in League One albeit sacked too early.
I've seen enough mate to know that this isn't the time to pull the axe just yet. As I said to you on Saturday, our preseason was heavily impacted due to Covid and not getting the players Evans wanted over the line. That's not necessarily his fault. I agree the incessant whining in public isn't helpful but at least it shows he's passionate about us succeeding.

Says it all mate. I stated last season what the problem was and virtually got slated for daring to say it. That problem has come to fruit again this season, with one very vital missing link. Anyway I've had my reminder letter through to attend specsavers drop on the doormat, but I know I'll be ok for another year after seeing the state of the ref on Saturday.
Looks like we will be short of players again. Even O Keefe unavailable as suspended
