Think so, we had 2 keepers swapping in the shooting practice video though. Wasn't too impressed with him either but there wasn't much he could do for the goals, he needed the defenders to do better.
Got back from the game about 30 mins ago. Spurs MF was poor as a unit. Luongo + Pritchard was a very good foundation last season. Pritchard really came to play today. Actually was a bit disappointed by Barca. The reputation of the seniors precedes them. The tikka-takka didn't really happen til the last 10 mins. The shape of the Spurs MF made it easy for them to hold the ball most of the time. Their number 9 was clinical. The number 11 a black Bale. I thought their number 6 was great. Tidy. Consistent. Did nothing flash.
Our midfield was completely over-run by Barcelona, we desperately needed the bite which Luongo gave this side last season. Not quite sure why we had at least 3 players who at the end of the game had all played in 3 different positions during the 90 minutes. A couple of the effects of this was to negate the effect of Alex Pritchard, who to his credit, still managed to have a decent game, and to further isolate Coulibaly. Thought Bentaleb looked ok, but in reality we had far too may players who never got going. On a more positive note, an impressive (and vocal) attendance of just under 9000.
Yes, that group at the bottom left of the West Stand were very loud indeed (chapeau) . I'd say the MF was conceded, rather than over-run. Poor shape. Players not making themselves available as outlet passes to team-mates. Some sloppy first touch control too. Tis why I mentioned Luongo. For Barca, you could see bits of the play/style associated with the seniors. But they were some way off that std (fortunately - otherwise Spurs would have been wiped out ) .
