He's still our player though. It might be interesting to see how he could do in the centre behind the striker. At the very least, if someone offers the likes of 2 mil which I've heard reported, they can **** off.
But he is back. We can't shift him due to his wages from what I've seen. Allardyce can't have seen a great deal of him and he could be a very good player for us
Then he'll go back on loan again if we can't sell him. I just don't see him in Sam's plans for next season.
Devils advocate here completely! But £2m for a player who's hardly kicked a ball for us would normally seem like a decent price! Just a wonder that this player is a top international for a top team (not an Azerbaijan or Albania (with all due respect to those 2) - ITALY!! I can easily see him working in a role for Sam. He is a very good player undoubtedly and I'm not really sure how much Sam has seen of him
It seems fairly obvious to me that the player has probably decided that he wants to play in Italy, rather than the PL. It makes sense to sell him than to keep him, unhappy, then get nowt for him in a year. I don't reckon Sam will be too bothered, he needs players who are committed. It's obvious the guy has talent, even if he is made of *** ash, so it'd make no sense at all to just discard him for peanuts if he was desperate to stay, at the very least you'd tie him down to a new contract and get a few more squid for him.
Thing is I'm not sure - he got hardly any game time here due to injuries and was always played out of his best natural position (the one he played in last night against a very decent side) Media sources are saying he wants to leave and his agent has piped up saying he needs game time so is looking to leave - but if he's the right player he could do an M'Vila and fall in love with the SAFC fans (and the £x thousand a week of course!!) I just don't know - I love watching him play the game - such a naturally gifted player and him in that number 10 role for us could easily be a missing piece of the puzzle. That said - 1 year left and 31 year old - If we can get a few million for him then I guess it'll be bye bye Emmanuele
