Why? Most teams play with inverted wingers these days so wouldn't they be matched better by a right footed left back?I'd be tempted to try him on the right though. Just a feeling.

Which was one of the issues with playing Lee Young-Pyo and Steed Malbranque together on the left.Far too narrow.
Inverted wingers generally allow the overlapping FB the space to get forward and get crosses in as they draw the opposition FB out of position. Having both looking to cut inside most times will just be a congested mess.

Crosses are known to be the most effective way of losing the ball and the least effective way of scoring though, so perhaps not a big loss.Far too narrow.

Locatelli played what I'd say was the Xabi Alonso role, a deeper lying midfielder with a great range of passing but with good physical attributes too that made him competent both defending and creating. Just about every Italy attack seemingly went through him and/ or Jorginho. Allowed Italy to remain so dominant alongside his two other CM partners. Even though we have Hojbjerg and (likely) Skipp for next season, definitely wouldn't be disappointed if we made a move for him, think he'd be perfect for the Prem and being at Sassuolo at the moment, I reckon there'll be a few big clubs monitoring him.
He's supposedly got a €30m release clause or something, so he'll have a variety to pick from.Another brilliant performance from him. Gonna have a lot of teams looking at him after this tournament.

Roman Yaremchuk's just bagged his second goal of the tournament with a calm finish against North Macedonia, having scored a good header against the Netherlands in the first game. 25 years old, 6'3 striker playing for Gent where he has a solid record of 47 goals in 122 league games, his scoring ratio has increased each season there too. This was also his 10th in 26 games for his country.
The last Roman from Eastern Europe we signed after an impressive Euros became quite popular...![]()
Whilst I unfortunately missed the whole match due to slight alcohol related reasoning, I've seen highlights of the Holland game and Denzel Dumfries should be someone of interest to us in my opinion. He's a goal scoring FB for PSV and his winning goal last night could've arguably been his hattrick as he had chances beforehand. At 6'2 he's a bit unconventional height-wise for a FB which allows him to be a threat aerially but despite being of big build he still moves like a typical modern day one. With Aurier set to leave and Doherty having an unconvincing first season, he should be relatively high up on our list of RB targets in my opinion.
Dumfries with another goal marauding from FB, also won the Holland their penalty that Depay scored.
Like Locatelli, I'd love him at Tottenham but he's going to have a lot of teams looking at him I'd imagine.

I’m with you on Dumfries, mate. He’s one to keep an eye on. He’s the exact sort of player I can see us going for, in fact.![]()
Certainly one we should be going for.
