I wish the other truly talented players of the last 20-30 years who got a fraction of the caps and recognition were held in the same esteem as Beckham. Le Tissier Gascoigne Hoddle Pearce Platt and many others For starters
Angelic, some of those players couldn't get in the England squad on a full time basis...this is mainly because they were not good enough. However, Gazza had legendary status with most England fans, even though he was another George Best. Le Tiss didn't do it for England, Pearce was a very good pro granted...Platt was also very good and I dont think many deny that, however none of them (maybe Gazza when he actually turned it on) were in the same quality level as Beckham.
