Been announced. Midweek fixtures, 12 teams with more to be invited. Stuff them, hope they get booted out
I'd boot them out of the league as of today. They don't deserve a place in the league system they're clearly taking for granted. **** them. The greedy bastards. That said. I'm actually impressed that Tottenham talked their way in. They're nearly men and nothing else. They're barely even nearly men.
If they want a no promotion, no relegation European league let them have it but they can't be doing that off the back of the football pyramid. No way should they be allowed to stay in domestic competitions if they want a closed shop ring fenced set up.
Kick them out now (gross misconduct), schedule all international and cup matches to coincide with the "super league" fixtures, Players would most likely be able to terminate their current contracts as there's possibly no provision within them for these additional matches.
Just read that PSG, one of the ****tiest clubs in the ****ing world, haven't backed the plans as it is disrespectful. I think this is going to backfire majority on the greedy clubs who have jumped in. I just do not see anyone letting them get away with this. Idiots. Money grabbing fools.
wonder if this could do with a poll im crap at things like that ozzy so can you do it if you fancy it mate, think it would be interesting
Totally agree It’s an absolute joke that they are trying to justify the new league If they are allowed to stay in it would make the premier league a complete joke. Let’s say there is still kudos for these teams to win the league but What happens when they are out of the running what incentive do they have to play a strong team and not rest players makes the league a shambles. What a time to be alive when all that matters is bloody greed
another cracking post, i know it's only for the top teams but apart from MU all the other teams success is from rich owners cheating the spending rules.
Exactly mate. And some of them haven’t even had any success. How the hell can anyone justify Spurs being part of a super league
Are these the same teams that wanted to pull out of the League Cup or send weakened teams and got rid of some replays because of fixture congestion and their precious little pampered superstars couldn't deal with another 90 minutes every midweek? Would be happy to see them all kicked out with no possible return and as Neville said earlier, massive fines of at least all of the TV and prize money they were due this season and relegations for all of them. When it all goes tits up my preference would be no way back, but if they were allowed they would need to start at the bottom of the pyramid. I do think that the FA are a bit hypocritical though as they did the same thing to the football league when they formed the Premier League, although I do realise that the EFL couldn't organise the proverbial brewery event. Oh and their women's teams should be kicked out of their league with immediate effect too. Might give the women's FA yet another chance restructure and move us down a couple of more leagues, probably because there are too many teams in red and white stripes or something similar.
if this does go ahead then it stinks of back stabbing...the ONLY way they could guarantee to generate money is if the likes of sky and bt have already agreed to put the cash in, which i would guess will mean a lot less or zero for regular club football, without a guaranteed television audience and the cash that goes with it it would not get off the ground, not one of the mentioned clubs would take the risk of losing the premier cash cow. i agree with the points deduction plus any other rule that is thrown at them, with a club or country choice i feel most would choose country and to do that they would have to rip up contracts and walk out on a free, without the top internationals these teams will be no better than lower end premier and championship teams and i really hope this comes back to bite them in the arse.
Have just read the statement on the Sky website. If that's the official statement then it mentions that the founding teams "have joined". If that's the case then kick them out now, including the Fa Cup and League Cup finals. They can't be allowed to play in them. Oh and they will apparently get over 3 billion to help with costs and to offset the money they have lost due to covid.
thanks for that mate and the news is an effing joke, they should not be allowed to raid academies unless they pay a standard fee of ? and no loaning the ones they have out in the UK, and no passports for overseas stars they are kicking Brits out of europe with rules upon rules let them have it back
I read of government intervention to stop this happening. I think at the moment I'd rather have them just get kicked out. Fine them their TV and prize money and divvy it up fairly between the lower leagues, That'll be over 600 million to share out between clubs from the Championship down. Stipulation of getting the money is that they agree to never participate in a euro super league going forward. They could also have other stipulations about how they can spend it so that 100% of it stays in the clubs and doesn't go to line the pockets of some greedy lower league chairman. Now that would guarantee the survival of all or most clubs in the pyramid. Also, apart from when I was really young, I don't think I've ever gone to a Sunderland match to watch the opposition. I don't care who we play, I go to support the lads. So if we ever do get back to the Premier league then it wouldn't bother me not seeing those teams play us.
Good poll Ozz, cannot blame the players for being part of this problem. However if they are hit hard maybe they will object to the cup? Wishful thinking...
