Lot's of excitement over this decision: FAW President, Phil Pritchard, added âCardiff has staged many major football events over the years and all have proved to be a fantastic success. This is another major event, and another feather in the capital cityâs cap.â
Yes indeed Ash. Great for both clubs in fact as it is bound to draw further attention to the Swans given their lofty status these days. With all that's going on at club level in Wales, I hope it triggers a change away from the apathy afforded to the international game from some officials, players and supporters.
Just thinking with the jacks in the prem why didn't they have it there unless they don't have much faith in mr. Landrup
Congratulations guys - seems things are on the up for all things Welsh and football. And it's a real feather in the cap of the Cardiff guys who must have been working their balls off behind the scenes to make it happen. Am genuinely pleased to see that CCFC have brighter times to look forward to after the financial worries of recent years (us Jacks have been there ourselves and it aint a pleasant experience); Malaysian investors who are putting their money where their mouths are and who, in my humble opinion, seem to have the intelligence and business nous to take the club to the next level! Swansea in the top flight and Cardiff well on the way to joining us (just hope we're still there when you are). Things are looking bright for Welsh football and I really hope it translates to success for the national team - with England (good on paper - **** on grass) going backward at a rate of knots, it would be fantastic if Wales could start making inroads on the international stage. I know that there are elements from both our sets of fans who wish nothing but misfortune on their Welsh rivals - but also know there are plenty that see success for both our respective teams as something that can only be good for our football and our country! Think will sign off now as am in danger of embarrassing myself with an out of tune rendition of our national anthem!
Clingo, top post mate. Let's hope Welsh football really is on the up now. Ccfc, it wasn't down to our manager that it wasn't at ours, its the fact that you are the capital of Wales, and, as a bigger city, it can draw more money into Wales.
clingo and cartoonhead - good posts as usual Ash - great response mate - this could have gone downhill very quickly As I Cardiff boy, obviously I'm delighted but there's one thing I'm unclear on so hopefully someone can educate me. I get the fact Cardiff is the capital city etc but from a revenue point of view, the Millenium Stadium (to my mind) would be the natural choice so does it have to be a club ground or whatever ground is nominated? excuse my ignorance
