I think that , if any, MON will go for a loer league striker with potential
There is Sordrell at Watford (MON was at Watford game couple of weeks ago) and Rhodes at Huddersfield...
    :)

    I remember Harry Hood
    :)

signed from Clyde if I recall.
He wasn't too bad - 'outside right' I think

We've had some good forwards from Scotland..
    George Herd of course. (Clyde)

If you remember Harry Hood, you'll certainly remember Neil Martin - a super centre forward. Hibs I think ?

    Poolie,

Can't comment mate, as you simply don't get to see enough Russian league, even living on the continent.

Re Papiss Demba Cisse, he's exactly the right type, quick and an out and out goalscorer.

Buy British and buy Rhodes for around 6 million.
Let him stay at Huddesfield until the summer to keep getting experience and bring him into the squad in the summer.

What like 13 million on a striker who doesnt play for us, yeah we got 6 million for the loan so its only 7 million.

Im not sure we do 'need' one, it would be nice to get a top draw striker but i think Wickham could begin to shine in the second half of the season and by getting a top striker would demand a first team place which would limit Wickham's and Ji's progress maybe, or maybe not i just know im not uneasy if we dont get a striker in Jan, would prefer Onuaha to a striker, great young defender and makes us much stronger.

    Podolski?

Someone on the SMB posted last week that he was in Faro Airport and the Cologne Team were there after Winter Training and Podolski was missing as he was in England about a possible move

Obv. Arsenal are likely but what a cracking signing he would be to anyteam, would love him here

Always been a fan of Dyer since he was at Southampton but dont think he would be a good signing

Scott Sinclair though I think he would do well for us

Ola Toivenen (plays for PSV Eindoven) Swedish lad and I've heard we are preparing an 8m bid for him. Maybe Larsson can have a word with him. Great player, don't have a link but you can check him out on youtube

    I agree with Poolie,
What we could really do with is a young speed merchant who can outrun any defender.
Kinda like a David Bellion ....... but with ball skills !!

I like the look of Moses at Wigan, thought he was great at Palace too and he is still only 21. Much promise has he.
Also that young lad Paul Taylor at Peterborough looked a fine prospect too, very talented and only 24.

just an update on the players

Burak Yilmaz: The Turkey international has netted 32 times in 31 appearances so far this term and is apparently being tracked by a host of top European clubs, including AC Milan

Olivier Giroud: The 25-year-old is currently enjoying his best season in professional football, scoring 21 goals in 30 matches for the Ligue 1 high flyers and AV and Newcastle are tracking him

Denis: has become a key player at alanta scoring 15 in 25 games before beciming injured

Luc Castaignos: inter are having a crisis and he wants out... everton and liverpool are chasing him

Welington: The Brazilian star is widely regarded as one of the most lethal forwards in all of Russia, and has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe.... liverpool and arsenal are chasing him with a hoast of italian clubs

Luuk de Jong: red hot and wants out... all the top teams want him apparently

Mevlut Erding: The Turkish international struggled to force his way into the PSG starting line-up during the first half of the season....He has now opted to leave Parc Des Princes and has finalised a deal with Rennes on a three-and-half-year deal. Erding revealed he had rejected offers, claiming he snubbed loan bids from Fulham, Sunderland and Galatasaray

Jon Daly: Still scoring and having won the scottish cup and looking to finish in a good postion in the league for his team (15 goals this season)

Rickie Lambert: Southhapton are going up and he will keep scoring (24 in 36 this season) and (75 in 123)

Jordan Rhodes: Hottest property in league one and still sccoring single handedly keeping there in the playoff spots (68 in 117) and 33 this season (2nd place has 21 goals)

    KP: still scoring :)

Still stick to my original, Giroud would be the ultimate.

Sow went to Turkey, which frankly to me puts him in Gyan territory.

2 from earlier I've tried to see more of, Doumbia & De Jong.

Doumbia? I'm still none the wiser, the only Russian footy I get to see is on bet.365, and CSKA rarely seem to feature.

De Jong. I maintain he has a chronic lack of pace for a striker, but he does look a smashing player.

Dubious about the standard of the league though, even PSV and Ajax look woeful this year.

Giroud... Very tough to imagine us getting him, but **** me we should try.

France cap will have added yet more euros to his price though.
