Here is the league table after the completion of the quarter final stage. Mark is in first place followed by Yorkie in second. There is a tie for third. 1. Markthehorn 59 pts 2. Yorkshirehornet 56 pts 3= Chris 13 48 pts 3= Colognehornet 48 pts 3= Hackneyhornet 48 pts 6. Hornet-Fez 44 pts 7. oldfrenchhorn 43 pts 8. Scullion 40 pts
Well we now know the line ups for the semis. There are some interesting ties, old reunions, and friends going home. Starting off with Barca v Liverpool, and the return of Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez to Anfield. Followed by Spurs v Ajax - no less than 4 ex Ajax players were on the field for Spurs at Man. City. There is also a friendly connection between the fan groupings here, with many Ajax fans supporting Spurs as their second club, and the same the other way round. Going on to the Europa League where Unai Emery returns to the club (Valencia) where he was a manager for 4 years. This game is also a rerun of the first ever European final to go to penalties. Finishing off with Eintracht v Chelsea - no connections here. Eintracht are the loudest fans in German football, well able to turn both games into home matches, so whatever happens on the pitch, Eintracht will at least win the singing. Champions League (all starts on April 30th) Barcelona v Liverpool Spurs v Ajax Europa League Eintracht Frankfurt v Chelsea Arsenal v Valencia
I have just noticed that there could be all english teams in both cup finals or none i dont think ether will happen
Arsenal v Chelsea final might be a shoot out for a Champions league spot if both miss out on the top 4. Barcelona v Liverpool 1-1 Spurs v Ajax 2-1 Europa League Eintracht Frankfurt v Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal v Valencia 2-1
Difficult for the neutral to get excited about this Brian. The 4 'English' clubs who have made it to this stage, all have foreign managers, mostly foreign players, and, in 3 out of 4 cases, are foreign owned as well - they are based in England, and carry the 'token' name of a region or town there, but that is the only real connection. From the richest 10 football clubs in Europe 6 are from the Premier League so this success is to be expected, but not necessarily applauded.
I understand you views .I was born in North London and all my family support the two north London clubs or none .So i should follow them but No im a proud Horn and Most of the time a proud English man plus i would think at least 90% of the fans of these clubs are home grown .The owners managers and players are representing the club in the short term the fans are there for life
Not sure about the fans being there for life Brian - did Arsenal always have 60,000 on a match day ? With Chelsea the contrast between the full stadium now and the half empty terraces of yesteryear is even more startling. Maybe more of the Premiership fans are short term than you realize.
All clubs are the same there is 1/2 of the fan base that will always be there and when you have a good few seasons the fan base will grow then die back down when the bad times come back .People will follow there club for most of there life and i dont mean just going to matches .Some will spend most of there life and cash following there club some can only watch it on TV highlights poss because of time and money .With no fans there is no club
