Maybe Liverpool council as an example should wade in. Tell the club, they are not allowed to use the Liverpool name as I'm sure its trademarked or similar.
You can’t normally trademark a place name in isolation, Liverpool FC actually tried to register the word ‘Liverpool’, but got told to do one.
Will the powers that be stop at domination of Europe? Could you envisage a time when the ESL decides to set up it's own Euro's or World Cup? I could, thereby getting around the players issue of playing for their country. Take your pick UEFA or ESL sanctioned country team. Typical of the Yanks. No idea of tradition or history, so they buy somebody else's and then mould into how they want it to look.
A major part of what will sell ESL will be broadcasting it worldwide. ESL / JP Morgan won't have got this far without already having covered that off. And you can bet if Sky/BT had been involved in this process, then Neville, Rio etc would have had the plug pulled a bit sharpish when they both started their rants. I bet Sky/BT will be ****ting themselves. Amazon/Disney and any other US broadcaster will be licking their lips at all this lot.
Another good article from Martin Samuel. Unfortunately a lot won't follow his suggestions. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...otball-feel-Super-League-clubs-way-again.html
tbh the way sky sports are clipping stuff that Neville , Klopp etc have said tonight and plastering it all over facebook says to me they will not be part of this (not through choice might i add)
It seems to be killing the golden goose by taking the clubs outside the environment that makes them so “attractive” in the first place.
Whoever gets it should be blacklisted by consumers. I hate Faecesbook, Walt would be turning in his grave and don't get me started with Amazon.
Like Glasgow Rangers and the 47,000 season ticket holders and 15,000 waiting list? Didn't see any of their fans cancelling their memberships because there's "no football"!!
