Probably would be the same as the German, Basel. As for the former English usage of Basle, pronounced Bahl, it probably stems from snobbery in the past(when French pronunciation was considered de rigueur) whereas in our politically sensitive times, we acknowledge that Basel is a German-speaking city.

Acknowledge that foreigners have the right to tell us how to pronounce their city names....get some backbone, man. We didn't build an Empire with namby pamby attitudes like that.

 

The French call it Bâle. The Germans call it either Basel or, less commonly, Basle.
