Unfortunately, I think teams will be set up not to lose. Wales aren't used to being anything but underdogs and struggled with expectation last night. They didn't play with the tempo and confidence on display against Russia and played too deep, most of the time allowing NI to press and hassle the Welsh midfield. Happy with the win; hoping the ROI can get past France and expecting England forwards to click and provide a less stressful fixture than ours. 3 out of 8 would be brilliant
This would be ideal, as Iceland would have to come out and actually try to win the game. We would then take them apart imo.
I hope the English strikers have a field day and get their collective mojo together...if the team are to really progress...they must put away half chances...not create 10 to score 1, as they have been doing. If the strikers clicked, England could go a long way
Before our match with France today, I just want to state my disgust that we only got 4,500 tickets for the game today in a 58,000 seater stadium. I think that is totally wrong. I am sure our fans will manage to get their hands on a few more tickets but these types of competitions need to have rules about evenly distributing tickets especially when a country plays the home nation. The away country should receive maybe 25%, a bit like the FA Cup. I just think it is wrong that we got less than 10%.
I really hope you beat them mate. My big concern though, is if (a big if!!) both Ireland and England win, you will bloody beat us in the quarters! Good luck today.
Both scenarios Col are very unlikely to happen. Having said that, if we play as well as we did against Italy, we have a small chance today but I wouldn't expect us to get close to England if we were to beat France. I think it will be 2-0 to France unfortunately. I think we will run out of legs. The heat in the stadium Wednesday night was unreal and the French have rested since last Sunday. Looking forward to a decent performance from us. No matter what happens, we gave a good account of ourselves so everybody is pleased.
The French are a lot like England imo. Look good going forward, but dodgy as **** at the back. Ireland must stop giving free kicks away in dangerous areas. Get the ball in their box, as they look weak back there.
