I don't, but I think it may be a draw. Wales could well win the group now which could condemn England to a quarter final against France and a semi against Germany (if I've worked it out correctly, which is questionable).
It's more a case of we'll beat ourselves, we should have buried the Russians in the first half but a mixture of poor finishing and an inspired keeper kept them in the game. Once we got in front Woy reverted to type and tried to close the game out instead of bringing Vardy on to finish them off. With the right manager we'd piss this group...
England had good movement yesterday, but somehow looked too predictable in attack. Add to that the fact that they choked at the end, and I have mixed feelings about the display. Can't help feeling Vardy's eye for goal was missing, but no doubt someone will tell me he doesn't fit into England's system
Brilliant! Let's win it the hard way! I honestly think it was just lack of clinical finishing, we created lots of good chances, seemed to be half a yard off converting some, shooting too straight for others and one miracle save. More worried about the defence against better attacks. Or just Gareth Bale. I'd forgotten about the third place thing, I was confused by Dean Saunders going on about virtually being through to the next phase yesterday.
I wouldn't be against Vardy starting in place of Kane. I'm not convinced that Kane is good enough in open play at International level and Vardy's extra pace may create more chances for himself. We mustn't play Vardy out wide though, as he looks clueless there.
Vardy should play as a striker with Kane IMO as we did with Shearer and Sheringham in 96 (the best England squad in years).
I thought we played well and after the goal it all went wrong after Rooney went off and Milner came on.
I didn't say like for like. Don't know what you mean. Shearer and Sheringham are 2 strikers, Kane and Vardy are 2 strikers.
Especially for Finglas...but for all the rest of us who maybe confused Sorry you will have to click on it, as I cannot get it to load correctly...but it is worth it
You said they should play "as" Shearer and Sherringham did. What I meant was that Sheringham was a classic No10 and played in behind Shearer. I don't see Vardy and Kane like that at all. I know some people think Kane can play as a No10 but I certainly don't. The two partnerships are completely different imo.
I thought Hodgson would have done better replacing Kane with one of the other strikers 2nd half. Kane looked a bit off the pace and not at his best. Rooney was looking tired and Wiltshire did well when he came on for him. And Mliner a good defensive sub late on.
Fingy 1 up against me in the sweepstake clash of the Titans, Croatia v Turkey. Didn't see the first half. To be honest I'm ambivalent about Turkey progressing, I'm already sick of the crescent moon on my avatar. Croatia well on top, should have had this wrapped up by now, but will they do an England? Turkey offering nothing, most one sided game I've seen so far.
UEFA have warned that England & Russia could be chucked out of Euro 2016 if there is any more violence.
No of course it's not. The French should also be chucked out if that's the case. Even if the fans do decide to behave themselves, this threat will only encourage the locals to stir-up trouble in order to get us kicked out.
A lot of England fans were officially advised to stay in Lille for the Wales match due to demand for places in Lens where the match is played. Unfortunately Russia play in Lille against Slovakia on Wednesday, a recipe for disaster you might think...
Anyway, back to the football and Northern Ireland's big moment arrives, Conor is one of the subs today so good luck to them. Sadly, Lewandowski is different class and may be the match-winner...
